What Exactly Is An Infopreneur?

I Am An Infopreneur

When people ask me what I do, I say. "I'm an infopreneur?"

This always results in a quizzical look, followed by a hesitant, "And, what exactly is an infopreneur?"

I'll start off my explanation with a half-statement half-query, "You know what an entrepreneur is?"

This is often the first stumbling block to understanding what an infopreneur is. Most people don't have a clear definition of what an entrepreneur is. They have been inundated with images of risk-taking daredevils who tackle seemingly impossible ventures.

While entrepreneurs do take on more risks than the average 9 to 5 employee, they are not the consumate risk-takers portrayed by dramatic TV shows. They merely assume the risk involved with starting and running a business.

Entrepreneurs are the ones who step out of the box - away from the false security of a job - and make things happen. They are the ones building businesses. Benjamin Franklin was an entrepreneur, as was Walt Disney. Ben and Jerry are entrepreneurs.

So now, we have a definition for entrepreneur - "One who assumes the risks of starting and running a business venture."

So ... What's An Infopreneur?

How does an infopreneur make money on the Internet?

The new word "infopreneur" was created by merging "information" and "entrepreneur" - an information entrepreneur.

Clear as mud? Not quite yet? OK, let's get clearer.

Someone has to take information, package it into an information product, build a business around it, and sell the information. That someone is an infopreneur.

Definition: "One who assumes the risks of starting and running a business that specializes in the creation and sale of information products."

The greatest part of being an infopreneur on the Internet, is the fact that I no longer have the huge risks I had with brick-and-mortar businesses. With low start-up costs and a high profit margin, this is a very low risk occupation.

In my next lens, you can discover exactly what's so great about being an infopreneur and selling digital information products

What Does An Infopreneur Do?

How do I make money online with information products?

As an infopreneur, I organize "how-to" information into reports, books, and videos - which I then sell 24/7 on the Internet. I'm taking my business experience, my marketing skills, and my product creation knowledge ... and creating information products around my knowledge.

You can do the same with your knowledge and experiences ... whether it be how to teach young children, fix a car, invest in the stock market, or any number of topics.

And ... it creates a very nice lifestyle.

There's nothing like selling digital information products on the Internet.

What made me decide to be an infopreneur? Why is it so appealing to me? Why would I not start any other form of business from now on? Why will I be an infopreneur forever?
