What is a WAHM?
Disclaimer: I have no affiliation with any work at home opportunities and I am not writing this lens to promote any particular one. I have my own business and any information provided below is for you to use at your own discretion.
I know. You see this crazy term- WAHM. Is it driving you nuts that you don't know what it means? No worries. It's simple. WAHM means work at home mom or work at home mother.
WAHM-(noun)A Female parent that earns an income while staying at home, often taking care of children at the same time.
With the growing need for a 2 income household in America, working at home while caring for children is becoming more the norm than not. While mothering is the most important job that anyone can have, many stay at home moms still feel like something is missing in their life and set out to find it through wahm-ing even if there isn't a need for extra income.
Through this lens, I hope to share wahm resources, tips and ideas.
Should You Work At Home?
Do you have the motivation? Can you stick with it? If you are a person that needs someone watching over you, patting you on the back or steering you in the right direction, working at home isn't for you.
Do you have the space? Working at home doesn't need to take up to much space but you should have one to call your own. Depending on what you decide to do, you should have a desk, closet, office or a small corner of the living room to keep the items that you need to have on hand for your business. You should also think about the noise level and if it will affect your business. You can't answer phone calls with kids screaming in the background.
Do you have the idea? There are so many opportunities for working at home. Some are scams and a lot are not. I'll discuss more on this later. Will you be selling something, assisting others, telecommuting, writing? You have to choose what you want to do and give it 110% to succeed.
