It's Halloween, its okay be a witch!
I know most children who watched the Wizard of OZ (one of my favorite movies) was really frightened with the wicked witch of the West. Of course they were frightened, Oh my goodness! She had a ton of green paint on her face and hackled when she spoke and holy cow, she melted when Dorothy threw water on her. Who would not be afraid of seeing like that?
Since forever and a day, the term "Witch" has been used to describe a woman's or a man's character if they believed in something different than most of the society. Wiki describes a witch as this: A witch may be a practitioner of witchcraft. Someone who is a practitioner of magic, Sorcerer, Wizard, White Witch. The practitioner of a supposed historical religious Witch Cult, a practitioner of neopagan (contemporary witchcraft e.g. Stregheria, Wicca). Colloquially or figuratively of certain aspects of the female gender role, the hag stock character or the femme fatale stock character.
There are White Witches, Black Witches, and Grey Witches, tall, short, old, young, female and male witches. BUT what makes them a witch?

Well, neither one of these. A witch is someone who works with the unconscious and subconscious mind, as well as the usually unnoticed forces and energies around us. A witch is often a healer. A true witch actually doesn't go against traditional religious beliefs. (Hmmm..maybe I should make my own lens!..lol)

In my humble opinion
I write about this subject an awful lot. I have shared my views, my beliefs and in my own humble opinion what makes a person a witch. The whole concept of being a witch is a label that others place on us to make them have a better understanding what we are about.If you were to see me walking the street, you would not know that I have been a witch over half of my life. You may look at me and say, "wow, that chick looks too old to look that gothic!" but all in all I dress, look and am who I am!
I do not go around with a huge sign hanging around my neck that says, "Hey, look at me I am a Witch!" I do not go around trying to convert other people to believe the way I do, because each person walks the path they need to walk. I know what I believe very strongly in and that is my focus, even if others do not agree with it, I cannot allow that to hinder my own spiritual walk.
So, what makes me a witch? Well, besides having that label placed on me; it is because I have a very strong connection with nature. I honor nature, the elements and the goddesses very much. I believe in the natural healing that the Divine gives to each of us. I believe in the energy that connects each and every one of us to create the whole the universe is complied of.
I can talk to people who live, breathe and fully believe in the Bible. I can carry on a conversation with people who walks a completely path then mine. I fully believe in the doing rituals and/or spells that are used for healing. I live strongly by the Rede: "And ye harm none". Don't get me wrong, I will not allow anyone to walk up to me and slap in the face without slapping back. I do not have a green face, although I have felt sick enough sometimes and felt like I was green.
I have placed some of my writings about how I believe in the featured section, if you get a chance take a look at them. To be very honest, although I may be labeled as a witch, in all actuality there is not a binding label that can be attached to me. My path consist of so many different things, so many hats that sometimes I am not even sure how to refer to myself, except to say: "I am whose I am!"

There was a time when I would watch this movie every year it came on. Yes, when I was younger for whatever reason this movie was only shown once a year. Hmm..unles it came on more and my stepfather would not let me know about it.
This is a classic movie, one I believe every child enjoy watching together with their parent who also grew up watching it. It is those tiny little treasured moments that brings together the wholeness of a true family.

What a fantastic series of movies to watch during Halloween, and even not during Halloween. Harry Potter is a great movie to watch when you just want to sit and do nothing. Don't we love those kinds of moments? I do!! I don't get them very often, but I sure do enjoy watching a good movie when I do!

- Excellent lens. Witches are such fun and have scared children for centuries. We don't celebrate Halloween here in England quite as much because it clashes with Guy Fawkes Night, although it is becoming more popular.
