This lens isn't about New York trivia, souvinears, coney island, or the statue of liberty. Its about what to do in New York, how to find out what's really going down, and where to party after you've moved in. Enjoy.

New York Tips

0. NYC map hack (or how to find your way around town).

1. NYC Garage finder / price comparison. Have a car? Nuff' said.

2.
Menutopia: Helping New Yorkers find their way though the masses of great resturaunts.

3. Craigslist is your friend, in ways you probably don't know.

4. Columbia and NYU are great places to get educated, even if you already have a degree or don't have cash to pay for tuition. Both have cool places to hang and meet people, and both offer classes to the public (like this one).

5. Meetup.org is pretty bleh, but if your a professional or are into that kind of thing NYC is the best town to be in.

NYC blogs & websites

1. Gothamist: Great roundup of all the amazing and cool stuff going down in New York (stuff you won't find in any tourist book).

2. What's up NYC: Similar to Gothamist, but less editorial. More concerts, raves, and other such things (More isn't always better).

3. Free NYC: Showing off the latest in stylish free stuff in New York--from free clothes to free concerts.

3. Flight 001: the coolest place in the world to get what you need to travel in style.

4. Other random stuff: just for fun map from 2006 VMAs, Flickr pictures tagged to a map of midtown, and my platial map of NYC.
