I can answer that! I can answer that!
Okay, sorry for the lame Bros parody to get us started, but for some reason it suddenly materialized and then stuck in my head when I was coming up with a title.
So this lens is about Squidoo Payments. If you're new you probably want to know how and when that happens. We may even throw in a what and why.
How... does Squidoo pay you?
The amount is in US Dollars.
When... does Squidoo pay you?
So what money you would have earned in January has to be calcuated by (for example) Google (for their Adsense ads). That money is then paid to Squidoo by about the 27th of February.
Then Squidoo pay you your dividend by around the 12th of March.
So whatever PPC (Pay Per Click, such as what Adsense is) or PPS (Pay Per Sale (Amazon and others) activity you've had at your lenses in any given month you only see the $ two months later.
It may take a little while before you start hitting the double figures. But in the mean time, if you don't make the cash payout threshold, it rolls over to the next payment date.
You are paid via Paypal. If you don't have an account yet that's fine, the money will accumulate until you nominate an account.
Update: The payment for the month of February was paid out on 7th April.
What... does Squidoo pay you?
The first pile is the "pooled revenue". This is revenue that is not directly attributable by Squidoo to a particular Lens. For example, when Squidoo sells sponsorship ads on a Search Results page. Or when an affiliate is paying income based on overall performance, as opposed to performance of one trackable Lens.
The second pile of earnings is the "attributable revenue." This is revenue that can be tracked directly to a particular Lens.
The pooled revenue is used pay overheads and then allocate pay to Lenses based on their LensRank and traffic.
Attributable revenue to pay any remaining overhead and then distribute the CO-OP share (50%) directly to the Lenses that earned it.
Why... does Squidoo pay you?
In reality Squidoo is divving up the revenue that they're making from Pay Per Click and Pay Per Sale (also known as Pay Per Action) advertisers.
Squidoo provides the tools for easy webpage (lens) creation, as well as a platform for a community to thrive. All you have to do is bring your expertise and personality.
