The Time Is Now To Find An Alternative To eBay! from Where Can I sell online besides eBay?
boutiqueshops Moderated by boutiqueshops
eBay has frustrated its sellers *and* its buyers more with their 2008 changes than with all previous year changes put together. Buyers can no longer find items they want from their favorite sellers. Sellers are closing down shop and leaving due to fee increases, the feedback debacle, not being found in search and/or the payment method mess (no checks or money orders; Paypal required).

Are You Going To Leave eBay For An Alternative Auction Site?

Let and went to ebid.net. Did not want to go with smaller site, this is the second biggest, world wide, right after ebay. Free lifetime listing,no relisting fee, five free stores, five free pictures, free google downloading, only 2% fee when item sells. Friendly forums, members help you get started because it makes ebid.net strong. This site grew 15% last month, and is nearing its 3,000,000 daily auction (probably this weekend). I feel very sorry for those who stayed at ebay and are hoping for change. It ain't going to come.sniff

I already closed my Ebay store last September when the new fees came in - for sellers of collectables/low priced items like myself it was just ridiculous to be paying those higher fees. So after 4 years of selling there I gave up the store.
I moved my British and European vintage postcards to Ebid and don't regret it for one moment. I have over 800 cards in my store there.
My American and Canadian postcards are on Atomic Mall. I have over 100 cards there.
I do still auction a small amount on Ebay but only a few - e.g. 20 auctions on Ebay and nearly 1,000 on Ebid! My UK vintage postcard store will not be moving from Ebid.

I have already moved my inventory to that wonderful venture called Bonanzle. I came across information and did alot of research before making that decision. I absolutely love the set up and atmosphere at Bonanzle, the web pages are attractive, easy ad set up and ease of shopping make it a dream. I even received assistance with my google feed from the guys who run the site. and last but not least, the people at bonanzle that buy and sella re so helpful and friendly. The site is set up to encourage chatting as you shop in the booths on the site. I am good to go, too bad EBAY couldn't offer that kind of customer service to it's users. And wouldn't even if they could. Business is Business, I know, but there are those who do business honestly and those who deceive. I choose to take my business away from a company that has become very deceptive and uncaring.
Bonanzle (referred to as 'the ranch' in ebay's forums) has already reached over 1,000,000 listings in less than 6 months time. It took EBAY 2 years to do that. We have also gained over 1000 new members since this time last week. This train is getting ready to leave the station. Join us at the frendliest place to shop, where you can find anything but the ordinary, or sit at the depot, and wait for the demise of what is yet to come for EBAY. Without it's buyers and sellers, EBAY will sidelined on a stationary track with nowhere to go...The people made them who they were, and the people will take that with them as they move on to the best alternative going, and hopefully in time, the biggest. Hope to see you all at Bonanzle.com.

Nice lens and I agree with you mostly, but you have to find what works for you. Eventually I will leave eBay for good if it doesn't leave me first...LOL. I'm looking for a small site where the sellers work together to promote themselves and the site. I found that now at MilBid.com though they did have a major set back. But in the last 3 mo we have increased traffic and page views by over 300% with our promotions. I've been to too many small sites where all they do is sit around and whine and the ceo's could care less that you need to sell.
