Ranked #2,483 in Tech & Geek, #62,251 overall

If you present, you should have one of these

They're small, simple, easy to use, don't require drivers and you don't have to stand next to your machine.

The ideal device because it frees you to walk around the room, making your point, instead of being chained to your PC or Mac.

Here's what I've recently discovered... they work great when presenting to just ONE PERSON. You sit the laptop where it needs to be and you can present without leaning across their field of view.

Here's the one I use

Logitech 2.4 GHz Cordless Presenter (Black)

Amazon Price: $192.95 (as of 11/28/2009)Buy Now

It just works. It has a timer. You can replace the batteries easily. No drivers necessary and it works with my Mac and with Keynote.

Yes, it costs more but it's worth it

No, consider this one instead...

The RemotePoint Onyx is my favorite. It's comfortable in my hand and doesn't have a million features I don't need.

The Logitech Presenter really works with Apple? The packaging does not say so.

    Save money, use a mouse...

If you are a cheapskate, or like poor Seth you've lost your remote, then a mouse works instead. A wireless mouse is better, but any optical mouse will give you a bit of freedom to step away from the laptop.

Chances are good that you already have one lying around.
