So, who is WhippetTalk Really?
More about the person and not the username.
My father (the Irishman in the story) met my mother while he was soldier in the Vietnam War. He married her in Vietnam and brought her back to the States where I was born a year later. The differences in culture made for a very interesting if not difficult childhood. If find myself constantly trying to find my identity as an American and yet, trying to hold on to Vietnamese culture.
Interests and Hobbies
Dogs - I love dogs. Especially Whippets. For 6 years now I have administered a website and forums dedicated to dogs. First it was an all breed site, then it became a Boxer Dog site and now it's a Whippet site. Dogs are so loyal and often misunderstood. I want to educate people with my sites so that dogs don't end up in shelters and pounds. The general public needs to learn the do's and don'ts of dog ownership before they get one.
Paranormal - I am facinated by the paranormal. Especially ghosts and hauntings. I am constantly criticized as being gullible or stupid because I believe in this phenomena. "For a smart person how can I believe in such bunk?" Well until you actually experience something you can not explain and see it and feel it for yourself, you will never understand. I believe that one day we will find the answers we are looking for and it won't be so mysterious after all.
Cooking - I love to cook, I just hate cleaning up afterwards! With my upbringing, I have learned to make some really flavorful asian dishes as well as your staple meat and potatos kind of stuff. I've thought about fusing Asian and Irish recipes together but that sounds really yucky when you think about it. LOL Finding the ingredients for true Vietnamese Cusisine is less challenging these days as compared to when my mother first came to this country. We are seeing more authentic food items in the grocery store and more Asian Markets cropping up in the cities.
Television - I love science and animals. My favorite channels are National Geographic, Discovery Channels (all of them), History Channel, Food Network, Sci-fi, Biography, The Science Channel and Animal Planet. I watch shows such as: Dog Whisperer, It's the Dog or Me, Deadliest Catch, Ice Road Truckers, Myth Busters, How it's Made, Good Eats, Unwrapped, Ghost Hunters, Encounters, History's Mysteries and more.
The username WhippetTalk
Why did you choose that?
Well why not? Actually, I probably should have put more thought into it. I could have come up with something more clever. But when I signed up, I just wasn't exactly sure what I was signing up for? Squid What? And the whole reason I was joining was to help get more traffic to my website. The name of the website? I'm so glad you asked (or didn't). It's WhippetTalk of course! Like I mentioned, I lack a certain amount of imagination.So the first lens was born. And promptly forgotten and left alone for nearly two months. Life continued. Then for some odd reason I decided to re-visit this whippet lens and the rest is history.

The first lens
This is the one that started it all. It became the addiction. It was awarded a purple star!- The Secret World of Whippets!
- In my opinion, Whippets are one of the best kept secrets of the dog world. Not many people are familiar with this breed; often confusing them with the Greyhound or Italian Greyhound. I became hooked on Whippets and all sighthounds when I got my first Whippet Reebok.
