Herb Tea as an Alternative Healing Method
Disclaimer: I believe in the therapeutic and healing properties of herbs, I personally use several of them daily. I have studied herbs for over 25 years and still learn something new everyday. Under NO circumstances am I prescribing or suggesting any kind of medical advice, what so ever. Everything that I list on the labels is considered to be "Folklore". Always research and ask questions about all herbs that you are not familiar with.
Herbs have been used by Medicine People for centuries in different towns and villages. Many of the townspeople would travel miles to visit the medicine person known in their community for healing.
Apothecary and mid-wifery used herbs all of the time. Women would gather herbs during certain times of the day to and make potions (teas) for magickal uses and healing purposes. There is so much information available for Folk-Lore Myths and remedies that several people could write a squidoo lens and never touch the surface of Herbal Healing.
I learn something new daily about using herbs. For me herbs are very magickal in every sense of the word. But they are so much more than magickal...they are a sacred gift, given to us from the Divine to help heal us. I am a proud tree hugger, if I could hug all of the herbs in the world, I would do that too! I believe in herbs, I trust them, I love them! When I am not familiar with some, I do a lot of research...that is why I mentioned in my disclaimer to ALWAYS research the herbs you are not familiar with.
Research, Research oh did I mention always Research?
Today, we have to refer to healing when using herbs or energy as Alternative Healing Methods that is fine with me! I just know that it seems like every day, more and more are leaning towards more of the "Alternative" methods of healing. I read articles, watch the news, listen to people, and it always seems that the spiritual aspect of existence (as fa r as healing) is leaning more towards Alternative Healing.I have listed the herbs that I sell, so you can read some of the properties of them. I am going to list several wonder books that I use and have used for years. I am going to share some of my own combinations- Yep; I am a tea lover too! If you are looking herbs that I do not have listed at WhiteOak eCrater let me know and I will try my best to help you find them.
I will share this one short story with everyone as an example why you should always Research and research some more when it comes to using herbs. I wanted to design a tea for my husband (which by the way is not a tea drinker) for wheezing and coughing. So I put this great combination together, and guess what.....I used too much of one of the herbs. My husband, bless his heart was drinking this glass of tea although it was burning his throat! I looked over at him and asked if he was ok. I said, " I am asking because I don't know about you, but there is something burning my throat!" He chuckled and said, "yep same thing going on over here."
Long story short, I used way too much Lobelia! Now I knew that Lobelia was a strong herb, but I only used a quarter amount of that herb oppose to the others I used. So see, although I have been studying herbs for over 25 years, I did not do enough research obviously on Lobelia. I finally got the right measurements together and now my husband (who drinks the tea because he believes in herbs too) can enjoy this tea without his throat burning to death!
