Evidence to the Deity of Jesus the Christ

The Word Became Flesh

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. His name is Jesus, the Christ.

Through him all things were made (the creator), without him nothing was made that has been made. In him was life, and that life was the light of men. The light shines in the darkness, but the darkness has not understood it.

There came a man who was sent from God; his name was John (John the Baptist). He came as a witness to testify concerning that light who is Jesus Christ, so that through him all men might believe.

He himself was not the light; he came only as a witness to the light. The true light that gives light was coming into the world.

He was in the world, and though the world was made through him, the world did not recognize him.

He, who is Jesus Christ came to that which was his own, but his own did not receive him. Yet to all those who receive him, to those who believe in his name, (Jesus) he gives the right to become children of God - children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband's will, but born of God. (Thus, the term "Born again")

The Word became flesh and lived awhile among us. We have seen his glory. the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.

The Word and Jesus Christ are synonymous!

Unto Use a Child is Born

The birth of Jesus the Christ was a prophecy fulfilled.

There are 333 prophecies in the Old Testament concerning the Messiah. These prophecies can be used as a finger print is used. These prophecies identify the identity of the Massiah. They all point to Jesus, but here I will talk about a couple prophecies that relate to the birth of Jesus the Christ.

Massiah, translated from Hebrew to Greek into English = Christ. Meaning "The Anointed One".

Isaiah 7:14 "Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign: The virgin will be with child and will give birth to a son and will call him Immanuel " ( Which means God with us).

Micah 5:2 "But you, Bethlehem in the land of Judah, are by no means least among the rulers of Judah; for out of you will come a ruler who will be the shepherd of my people Israel."

The angel Gabriel is sent to Mary and tells her that she will be with child and give birth to a son. Her reply is, "how can this be I am a virgin." The angel goes on to explain. "Do not be afraid, you have found favor with God. The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. The holy one to be born will be called the Son of God. You are to give him the name Jesus." Mary answers, "I am the Lord's servant, may it be done to me as you have said."

Now Mary was pledged to marrie Joseph. Before the marriage took place, Mary was found to be with child (pregnant).
This created a big problem. In those days people could be stoned to death for adultry. Joseph had one of three choices, he could cancel the marriage contract and send Mary on her way. He could have Mary & the father of the child stoned for commiting adultry. Or he could go ahead and marry her.

Joseph must have been greatly troubled over this turn of events. Just imagine how you would feel. You're about to tie the knot with the love of your life when you find out that she's pregnant. You have no idea who the father is, and now you're having serious doubts about who your future wife is. The answer came to him in a dream. An angel came to him in a dream and explained to him what was going on. He was commanded by the Lord to take Mary as his wife. This all took place to fulfill what the Lord had said through the prophet Isaiah.

Mary, on the other hand had some explaining to do. Who would believe that she became pregnant by the Holy Spirit? She was probably looked down upon by the entire community. After the marriage ceremony, Joseph & Mary must have moved away.

It's interesting to see how The Lord can use people of the earth to do his bidding. For instance, he used Caesar Augustus ( the pagan Emperor of Rome ) to fulfill Micah's prophesy.

In those days Caesar issued a decree that a census should be taken of the entire Roman Empire
( this was the first census that took place while Quirinius was governor of Syria). Every male had to go to his home town to register. So Joseph went up from the town of Nazareth in Galilee to Judah, to Bethlehem the city of David. Because he belonged to the house and line of King David. He went with Mary who was expecting a child. While they were there , the time came for the baby to be born.

Here, I would like to try clearing up what a legalist would call a discrepancy in the Bible.
How is Jesus able to claim title to the throne of David if Joseph was not his real father? Joseph was in the ancestral line of David through Solomon. Answer: Mary was also in the ancestral line of David, through Nathan, another son of David. Luke 3:31

God's promise to David. "I will raise up your offspring to succeed you, who will come from your own body and I will establish his kingdom. He is the one who will build a house for my Name, and I will establish the throne of his kingdom forever, I will be his father, and he will be my son."

Only Through Faith in Christ Jesus Can Anyone Inherit Eternal Life, Joy and Peace

What is faith, you ask?

Faith is being sure of what we hope for, and certain of what we can't see. I don't need scientific proof. I know in my heart that the Word of God speaks of what is true.

Everyone of us would like to go to heaven but some think that if they obey and keep the laws of God, they will earn the right to heaven. What they might not realize is that nobody can obey the law indefinitely. Lets face it, you are going to sin. You and I can't help it! The laws were written to condemn us but God the Father made a way for us to enter heaven apart from the law, through faith. Faith in Christ Jesus. No one goes to heaven by thier own works. The only way to heaven is through grace or forgiveness of sin and there is only one who has the authority to do this... He is Jesus the Christ

Only Jesus Christ can forgive us of our sins. He paid the price, he bought our freedom through his self sacrifice. Faith is believing in the death and resurrection of Jesus. In knowing that my sins are forgiven by the blood of Christ and of being certain that he lives. He's seated at the right hand of the Father until he comes again in glory to judge the living and the dead.

Who am I to question the motives of the supreme being (God) How can I understand his mind? How can I know his thoughts? I can't, all I can do is have faith. The kind of faith that makes me confident in knowing I'm a child of God. Certain he will watch over me and my own, giving me life everlasting.

"Consider how the lilies grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you, not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today, and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, how much more will he clothe you. O you of little faith! And do not set your heart on what you will eat or drink; do not worry about it. For the pagan world runs after all such things, and your father knows that you need them. But seek his kingdom, and these things will be given to you as well" Luke: 12; 27-31

Every day has two handles, you can take hold... the handle of anxiety or the handle of faith. It's your decision to make each and every day.

Are you good enough to get to heaven on your own accord?

Most Important Decision of Your Life... Have You Considered Who is Jesus Christ?

And where you will spend eternity?

We are free to make choices everyday. But we are not free to not make a choice and futher more, we are not free of the consequences of are choices. If you decide not to make a choise, you still have made a choice. Everyone's destiny is a result of our choices, good or bad.

There is only one name under heaven in which men can be saved from eternal damnation. That name is "Jesus" he will judge the nations. If your name is not in the "Lamb's Book of Life" you will be separated from God eternally.

Hebrews 9:27 states; "It is appointed for men to die once and after this comes judgment."

Believed in Jesus the Christ but Something was Missing...

I grew up as a Catholic. Went to a Catholic grade school, married in the Catholic Church, and baptized my children as Catholics. But I wasn't sure if I was saved, something was missing!

Call it a cross-road or mid-life crisis I don't know. I wanted to know more about Christ, so I started to read the Bible. The search was on!

Then one morning on my way to work, I herd a preacher on the radio. His name was Vernan MaGee, all of a sudden I was on the "Bible Bus".(bot radio network) He gave me an understanding of the scriptures. Then after him was a preacher named John MacArther. Bolth had opened the doors of knowledge about the scriptures to me.

In the Bible it is written;"Seek the lord and you shall find him". This prayer was answered when I listened to these two preachers. Now when I read the Bible I have understanding.

Since that time I have grown in the spirit. I love to here the word of God. It's as if I have a need for the word. It sounds crazy but it true. My life has changed for the better. I do think I've been re-born.

I still attend mass at the catholic church in which I'm a member of the parish. It's true, I have grown in the spirit and I still participate in the sacraments of the church, such as communion and reconciliation. I attend a vandalistic church once in a while just to feed my soul with the Gospel of Jesus Christ, there are times when I feel a hunger for the word.

What many people don't realize is this. When the Lord Jesus returns to establish his kingdom, all those believers that fell asleep (people whoes bodies died but their spirit went to be with Christ). And all that are still awake when the Rapture of the church takes place. Will return with him as saints, glorified bodies intact. Just as his body was at the time of his resurrection. 1Corinthians 15:35-58. So in essence we who are believers of Christ will all be saints.

Not Sure... Who Is Jesus Christ?

Look at some of Jesus's titles and attributes and gain better understanding.

Isaiah: 11, tells us about "The Branch From Jesse" this tells us of Christ's second coming. After he is given the "Title Deed" to the earth, (the scroll w/ seven seals seen in Revelation 5:7) he comes to set up his Kingdom. Here he is called "The Root of Jesse". (Jesse was the father of King David) Also, at this time Israel will be redeemed. For Israel is the apple of God's eye.

"A shoot will come up from the stump of Jesse; from his roots a Branch will bear fruit.
The Spirit of the Lord will rest on him" (this was fulfilled when John the Baptist baptized Jesus in the river Jordan) "the Spirit of wisdom and of understanding, the Spirit of counsel and of power, the Spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the Lord."

"He will not judge by what he sees with his eyes, or decide by what he hears with his ears; but with righteousness he will judge the needy, with justice he will give decisions for the poor of the earth".

"He will strike the earth with the rod of his mouth; with the breath of his lips he will slay the wicked. Righteousness will be his belt and faithfulness the sash around his waist".

"The wolf will live with the lamb, the leopard will lie down with the goat, the calf and the lion and the yearling together; and a little child will lead them. The cow will feed with the bear, their young will lie down together, and the lion will eat straw like the ox".

"The infant will play near the hole of the cobra, and the young child put his hand into the vipor's nest. They will neither harm nor destroy on all my holy mountain, for the earth will be full of the knowledge of the Lord as the waters cover the sea" (Isaiah 11).

Notice how the curse of the earth is lifted? The curse that was set when Adam & Eve sinned.

Despite what the so-called experts and top scientists say, the future of the earth looks bright! Of course if mankind is allowed to continue on the path we are on, we will destroy the earth. The Lord will intervene before this happens. You see, he created the earth and won't allow us to destroy it.

Jesus is also known as "The Lion of the tribe of Judah" and "Root of David" Lets not forget "Lamb of God" Revelation:5

"You are worthy to take the scroll and open it's seals, because you were slain, and with your blood you purchased men for God from every tribe and language and people and nation. You have made them to be a kingdom and priests to serve our God, and they will reign on the earth".

Revelation 19:16 says he is "King of Kings" "Lord of Lords" lets not forget that he is also "Messiah" to the Jews. This will become evident to them in the future.

Psalm 22 describes the crucifixion of Jesus. King David wrote Psalm 22; hundreds of years before it happened. So you see, the Jews can't be blamed for this event. It was ordained by God - The Father as the final atonement for sin.

Back in Genesis 22:, God tested Abraham, take your son Isaac, your only son, whom you love. Sacrifice him as a burnt offering, God said.

Abraham was about to do as the Lord commanded but an angel of the Lord called out from heaven saying, do not lay a hand on the boy. As Abraham looked up he saw a ram caught in a thicket by it's horns. He sacrificed the ram instead of Isaac. Abraham was blessed because he didn't withhold his only son.

The point I'm trying to make here is that God didn't withhold his only son either. Notice how a ram was provided for Abraham to sacrifice, not a lamb. God later provided the lamb (unblemished, without sin) for the finial atonement for sin sacrifice in the name of Jesus.

Romans 9:30 may shed some light on this.
Israel's Unbelief

"What then shall we say? That the Gentiles, who did not pursue righteousness have obtained it, a righteousness that is by faith; but Israel, who pursued a law of righteousness, has not attained it. Why not? Because they pursued it not by faith but as if it were by works. They stumbled over the stumbling stone. As it is written:"

"See, I lay in Zion a stone that causes men to stumble and a rock that makes them fall, and the one who trusts in him will never be put to shame."

Another attribute of Jesus, "stumbling stone"
Romans 10 goes on to say. "Brothers, my heart's desire and prayer to God for the Israelites is that they may be saved, For I can testify about them that they are zealous for God, but their zeal is not based on knowledge. Since they didn't know the righteousness that comes from God and sought to establish their own, they didn't submit to God's righteousness. Christ is the end of the law so that there may be righteousness for everyone who believes." Therefore no one will be able to boast of their own righteousness.

Woe to U.S. if We Fail to Support Israel

In essence, we Christains owe a graet deal to the Jews. For through them we are granted the gift of eternal life.

As a nation we are obligated to support and defend Israel, Genesis 12:3 makes it clear... "I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse, and all the peoples on earth will be blessed through you."

Another title of our Lord Jesus is "Immanuel" which means "God with us" We see this in Matthew 1:23

He is also called "Son of Man" He refers to himself as this, in the gospels.

Jesus is the most talked about and controversial person in history. The virgin birth, his ministry, resurrection, his childhood. Topics that have been debated, argued, and fought over for two millennium. Could this be a clue as to his deity?

Do Today's Headlines Point to Christ's Return?

Van Impe Ministries tells it like it is. Jack relates today's news headlines to truth in bible prophecy.

Such as signs that indicate Christ's return. One of these signs is increase in terrorism!

"The New World Order", a final sign before Jesus returns to take believers out of this world (The Rapture) as the tribulation period begins.

The Wisdom and Power of God

Another attribute of Jesus the Christ

Jesus the Christ on the crossThe message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are saved it is the power of God.

"I will destroy the wisdom of the wise; the intelligence of the intelligent I will frustrate." Says the Lord. 1Corinthians 1:18- 19

"No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God Almighty has prepared for those who love him." 1Corinthians 2: 9

The Lord created an endless universe, which is his domain. He created it for those who love him (his children). In the future when our bodies are glorified like Christ's body, we'll be able to travel through the Lord's universe at the speed of thought. Just as His holy angels do now. This is only part of what God has in store for those who love him.

"God has revealed it to us by his Spirit. The Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God. For who among you knows the thoughts of a man except the man's spirit within him? In the same way no one knows the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God. We have not received the spirit of the world but the Spirit who is from God, that we may understand what God has freely given us."

"The man without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him, and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually discerned." 1Corinthians 2:12- 16

Second Comming of Jesus Christ

Before Jesus left to go back to the Father in heaven, he told us of his return

Brothers, do not be ignorant about those who fall asleep or grieve like the rest of men who have no hope. According to the Lord's own words, I'm telling you that we who are still alive at the coming back of the Lord will certainly not procede those who have fallen asleep. For the Lord himself will come down from heaven with the trumpet call of God. The dead in Christ (Those who died as believers in faith) will rise first. Afterwards, we who are still alive will be caught up with him in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air to be with him forever (1Thessalonians 4:13). This will happen in the wink of an eye, our bodies molecular structure will change instantly into an uncorruptable body (immortal).

Jesus talked about signs that would be given as a warning of the end of the age. We now live in the age of grace. At the end of this age the Lord will come back to establish his kingdom on earth (Revelation 19:11).

He told the high priest of the Sanhedrin when asked if he was the Christ. "I am" he said, "and you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of the Most High and comming on the clouds of heaven." Mark 14:62

Acts:1:10 Talks about Jesus's ascention into heaven. As the witnesses watch Jesus ascend to heaven, two angels appear saying, "why do you stand here looking into the sky? This same Jesus who has been taken from you into heaven, will come back in the same way you have seen him go into heaven.

The Lords second comming will be two separate events. The first event will be the Rapture of his church, as discribed in 1 Thessalonians 4: 16 "For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command. With the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God. The dead in Christ will rise first. After that, we who are still alive will be caught up with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air"... For a more detailed study of the Rapture you can visit The Rapture Doctrine

Note: This is when the graves open of those who's spirits went to Christ at the time of their death. At this time they get their glorified bodies. Those who are still alive at this time, go to meet Christ body and soul.

This happens before the Great Tribulation begins. The Great Tribulation will start soon after the dictator (man of sin) of the "New World Order" takes over here on earth. Daniel predicted the main events that will unfold during the final week of seven years of the coming Tribulation period.

There will be great distress on earth, such as has never been seen nor ever will be seen again. This is to last seven years. At the end of the seven years is when Jesus comes back with all his saints to establish his kingdom here on earth. He will separate the sheep from the goats. The sheep will live in the kingdom, the goats will be thrown into the lake of fire which has been reserved for Satan and his angels.

Why Does Sin Exist

Why has God allowed sin to exist?

Sin is in contrast to God. Webster's Dictionary calls it (in part) a state of habitual violation, or fault, to do wrong, offense. Well no wonder God separates himself from sin and sinners. Sin is an enemy of God.

Sin entered the world through Satan the father of sin. When God the Father created the angels, Satan was one of the finest. He was called son of the morning. But because of his pride he vowed to place himself above God. Therefore Satan made the original sin.
Isaiah 14:12- 21

Why would God allow sin? Couldn't he have just destroyed Satan and thus destroy sin? Once sin started it spread like a virus, it infected 1/3 of the angels. Eventually sin will be destroyed but it has to run its course just as a virus must run it's course. Once the virus does run its course it will be destroyed and never seen again.
