The reason I fell in love with Reba McEntire 

Growing up in Southern Oklahoma I had heard of Reba a lot. I'll never forget the moment I saw her in Atoka before I knew she was famous as a young girl.

She was and is absolutely beautiful and when she sings it sounds so much like it is from the heart.

As a family, my children and I have taken great pleasure in singing along with many of Reba's songs over the years. Our favorite being Fancy as it has resembled various pieces of our family history.

We journeyed a bit further South to Texas to see Reba when she did charity events for Texoma Medical Center and went on to develop the Reba McEntire Rehabilation Center but never had a chance to meet her.

I have a great respect and admiration of Reba and her achievements. Knowing the area she grew up in and how far she has gone in life became a very inspirational influence on me from a very young age.

Reba Nell McEntire (born March 28, 1955) is a Grammy award-winning American country music artist. She began her career in the music industry singing with her siblings on local radio shows and rodeos. As a solo act, she was invited to perform at a rodeo in Oklahoma City, which caught the attention of country artist Red Steagall. He brought her to Nashville, Tennessee, where she eventually signed a contract with Mercury Records in 1975. She released her first solo album in 1977 and released five additional studio albums under the label until 1983.
