Tupac's Murder

On the 7th of September 1996, Tupac was shot 4 times in a
drive by shooting on the Las Vegas strip. Despite the seriousness of his
injuries he managed to hold on to life for 6 days before finally dying on
September 13.

Earlier on in a casino lobby, Tupac punched and kicked
alleged Crip gang member Orlando Anderson, the shooting later on was explained
away as a retaliation for this assault.

Detective russel
poole did not believe the crips made the hit and began investigating other options.

He quickly found that many people had a motive for killing
Tupac - the person with the strongest motive was Suge Knight, CEO of Death row
records.

Others named as potential hit orchestrators were his hip
hop friend turned rival the Notorious B.I.G.

After watching many documentaries and reading many police
reports, we weigh up the evidence against the 3 main suspects, Suge, BIG and
Orlando Anderson.

Suge Knight

Possible Motive

Tupac's bodyguards have gone on record saying that Suge
owed Tupac millions of dollars in unpaid royalties, because of this Tupac was
about to leave Death Row records and sue them for the money they owed him,

Evidence (circumstantial)

Part 1: Detective Russell Poole believes the hit was designed to look like the Crips
and Orlando anderson took retaliatory action for the hotel lobby assault.

According to one of Tupacs body guards, a Death row
associate and Blood gang member, pointed Orlando anderson out to Tupac. He told
pac that Orlando had stolen a death row chain earlier in the night, eager to
impress, Tupac jumped Orlando Anderson.

In a later interview, Orlando Anderson claimed he never
stole any chains from death row members.

Russel poole says it seems tupac was misled to provide a
reason for the hit.

Part 2: Snoop Dogg, a crip gang member and at the
time a Death Row artist, gave an interview to the police about an unrelated
incident. During this interview a police officer asked if he knew who killed
Tupac, snoop replied "the man sitting next to him in the car" The cop asked if
he meant suge knight, snoop replied "affirmatively".

Part 3: In an interview after the shooting, Suge
knight damaged his credibility by lying to the camera. When asked if he had been
injured in the car he claimed that he had a bullet still stuck in his head, when
medical reports show that he was only grazed by flying glass.

Part 4: On that night, Tupac had only one body
guard with him, Frank Alexander (a former mr universe). Frank was unarmed and
had no radio. It was unusual for Tupac to have an unarmed bodyguard, Death row
employed a large amount of off duty police officers as body guards purely
because they are legally allowed to carry firearms.

Part 5: Frank Alexander claimed in an interview
with Nick Broomfield, that he was asked by Death Row to lie about what happened
on the night of Tupac's shooting, when he refused he received death threats.

Detective Russel poole, also in an interview with Nick
Broomfield, described Suge knight as being one of the most successful gangsters
on the 90's, mainly because he had so many police officers working for him.

Notorious B.I.G

Possible Motive

Tupac claimed he had sex with BIG's wife Faith Evans and
insulted bad boy records in many of his songs.

Evidence (circumstantial)

Part 1: A few claims that B.I.G paid the Crips to
kill pac. Apparently B.I.G was spotted in in the area paying a crip gang member
to do the hit. Although this is pure rumour, no evidence was ever found.

Part 2: When Tupac was shot 5 times and survived in
1995, B.I.G was rumoured to be behind the hit. Days after pac was shot B.I.G
released a track called "Who shot ya". B.I.G claimed he recorded the track
before the shooting but pac didn't believe him.

This could be considered by some as a prior attempt by
B.I.G on Tupacs life, however it doesn't really qualify as evidence of the
murder.

Orlando Anderson - Crips

Possible Motive
Casino assault by Tupac and the Death row bloods

Evidence (circumstantial)

Part 1: According to an interview with
Orlando Anderson, Suge and he were in jail together after the shooting. Whilst
in jail Suge identified him as the shooter.

Part 2: Orlando Anderson claimed he was not part of the crip gang but
admitted one of his uncles and some of his friends were in the gang, A
retaliation for the assault is possible but no real proof was ever found.
