Whole House Water Filter

Whole house water filter is an item I feel everyone should own. I have a water blog and my "love" is really water. In my research regarding water and finding the right kind of drinking water filter, I discovered that I had overlooked my home! I used to think whole house water filters were only for people living in areas where chemical and organic contamination of the water supply is a major concern-surely not for folks like me who have only "minor" contamination. But this is just not the case.

A whole house water filtration system will filter every drop of water that comes into your house, whether it's from the tap at the kitchen sink, at the bathroom or at the laundry room. This helps to ensure that the presence of contaminants in your food, clothing and drinking water are greatly reduced. This alone is worth a lot.

However, if you are like me, and think there is not that much contamination, you probably have not considered the chlorine and its by-products. What about the chlorine we breathe in our showers as vapors and that which is absorbed through the skin? Many think this is much worse drinking it. And then there is the VOCs or volatile organic compounds. These have been known to cause irritation and allergies and can also contribute to problems with the respiratory system. Do you have a baby, young children? Do you want them absorbing the chlorine when you bathe them? Forget about the vapors!

Whole house water filters also reduce the release of chlorine and VOCs from the dishwasher and washing machine. Because it prevents chemicals and other compounds from entering the water system in the house, they also extend the life of appliances and plumbing. Additionally, they also do away with the need to install filters in the shower system because they block the contaminants right at the point of entry. What you get is improved water quality with no water wastage.

I am admitting prejudiced as to the best whole house water filter, because I purchased a Pelican water filter. I have nothing against pelican water softeners, as they do not use salt. However, that has to wait for later till after I buy one and then I will speak to that.

Healthy Water & Water is not Really Boring

Whole house water filters is not the only topic of my blog. On hide sight I might have given it another name. Now that I find myself writing in different blogs on the topic of water, thought I found that the whole house water filter is neglected. Most of us just don't consider the importance of the water that comes into our house and is absorbed by our skins and through our respiratory systems.

I really am in to other things besides just water filters and water. HOWEVER, what has happened is that about a month ago when I started my Water Blog, I began to do research. Finding the the right kind of water filter and buying a whole house water filter is just the tip of the iceberg.

I am even planning to write an ebook about it all. What I like about Aquasana water systems is that the company was started by a gentleman whose son was very ill. Long story short, he inadvertently found out the contaminants, chlorine, VOCs etc. in the water, NOT just the drinking water were a major factor in his son's health.

When he added filters to all of his facets, bathrooms, showers, kitchen etc., and of course drinking water too, well, the boy got better and is as healthy as can be till this day.

What did he do? He sold his business and started Aquasana. Pretty cool, huh? I am not saying that it's the only good company out there. I actually bought my whole house water filter from Pelican. But...I love ood stories like that.

I am working on posting more on my squidoo lens. I actually am doing more research into the water filter and water purification thing too.

Healthy Water Rocks!

I already shared a bit in my bio. This is my latest understanding of what's up with our water and the reminders I have given myself in starting my water blog that I finally decide to create my first lens. We are mostly water. We need the right kind of water for our bodies.

It's as important to know about the right kind of water as it is about the right kind of nutritional supplements. And with that comes knowledge of not just the necessity for a good water filter, but the right kind of water filter. I just bought an Aquasana undercounter water filter, and I owned a $500 R.O. system. Ouch, that hurt, but fortunately the aquasana's aren't very expensive.

And no more bottled water for me, unless it's Fiji water. I either take a bottle of my own filtered water with me, or I buy Fiji when away from home. I also have a bottle I bought from the Emoto website with love and positve works on it, which he has proven effect the water. I also add a small pinch of celtic sea salt, although with the aquasana I might not need it 'cause it leave the good minerals in the water. However, I am in a bit of a fanatical phase here with water.

I even bought a whole house water filter a pelican, not from Aquasana though, from Water Filters USA. They are good guys over there. Got a good deal. Soon I am going to invest in a walk-in tub for my elderly Mom, but also with spa jets, so as you can see, I am really get into water! I will have my own clean water spa at home!
