Authentic Sources for Wholesale Products
Your search for authentic wholesale suppliers is OVER! Look here for a list of TRUE wholesale sources.
Avoid the Common Mistakes
There's a whole lot of "wholesale hype" out there--lots of noise, but not much signal.
In the wholesale world it's easy to get burned. One of the worst things you can do is buy a list of "wholesale suppliers" on eBay, or from a flimsy internet marketing site. Most of the time these lists are outdated, inaccurate, and simply put, a waste of time.
Poll: Your Search for Wholesale Sources
A Real Deal List of Wholesale Sources
- WorldWide Brands
- WorldWide Brands is not a wholesale supplier per se; it is actually a directory of thousands of solid, legitimate wholesale suppliers.
Hands down, this is the number-one source on the Internet for wholesale/drop-shipping information. Founded by eBay Radio's Product Sourcing Editor, Chris Malta, WorldWide Brands enables you to access millions of products using their wholesale source aggregator, known as OneSource.
WorldWide Brands does charge a one-time fee for OnceSource, but in my humble opinion it's well worth the price. - Petra Industries
- Petra Industries is a wholesale distributor of consumer electronics and appliance connection supplies. You will have to register with them to gain access to the wholesale prices of the products featured on their site; they only show retail prices to non-registered users.
They have a drop-shipping program available for a nominal handling fee, and will work to help e-commerce sellers "flesh out" their sites by providing images and product information. - Overstock.com B2B
- Don't sleep on Overstock.com! They have a surprisingly little-known area of their site where they offer bulk wholesale products for sale. This is an excellent place to find inventory for selling on eBay or other similar sites.
- Madison Avenue Closeouts
- Madison Avenue Closeouts specializes in wholesaling high-end department store merchandise, such as men's, women's & children's clothing, apparel, handbags, jewelry and lingerie. You'll find well-known brand names such as Michael Kors, Tommy Hilfiger, Ralph Lauren, Calvin Klein, etc. They are not allowed to reveal their specific sources over the internet, but you can obtain that information via a phone call or email to their company.
- Children's Wholesale Apparel
- Talk about a market that will never be obsolete! Over 100 different brand names of children's clothing are offered here. No minimum orders; immediate shipping. Well worth a look.
- Liquidation.com
- Liquidation.com is somewhat of an eBay for business surplus. You can bid on pallets of all kinds of items, from clothing to electronics to jewelry, the list goes on & on. They offer wholesale, surplus, and salvage assets. One important caveat: Be sure to check the shipping cost before you purchase a pallet; you don't want to get stuck with a freight bill that could completely sink your profits!
- Thunderball Marketing, Inc.
- Thunderball is a wholesaler & distributor of a large variety of electronics, digital cameras, mp3 players, etc. They've been in business since 1985 and are well-established in the industry. You will have to apply to their program (see sticky note below), but a good advantage is that they are willing to work with smaller-volume sellers as well as the "big dogs".
- Dollar Days
- One of my personal favorites. They have a large variety of merchandise that you'll just have to visit their site to fully take in. They offer regular closeout specials on already-wholesale prices. Their company also has a very friendly feel; this is somewhat of an abstract benefit, but still cool nonetheless.
- Classic Closeouts
- I kind of cheated on this one...Classic Closeouts can't fully be categorized as a "wholesaler", but rather a "closeout specialist". Whatever the name, they have some GREAT deals on men's, women's and children's clothing, sometimes at 90% off retail prices.
- MBK Wholesale
- MBK Wholesale is a general wholesaler of housewares, home decor, jewelry, tools, and gifts, as well as closeouts, overstocks, liquidations and bankruptcies. They also offer bulk inventory for dollar stores and the like.
- Surplus.net -- Directory of Surplus Dealers
- Surplus.net features a gigantic directory of all kinds of wholesale, closeout, and surplus dealers. Surprisingly, many of the truly authentic wholesale suppliers out there don't advertise in search engines at all; you'll find this to be true with many of the companies listed with Surplus.net. It won't be as simple as clicking on a link and ordering from a web page; you may have to talk to a live person on the phone or correspond with them through email.
This shouldn't dishearten you or make you think they're not "legit" because they don't have a website with a bunch of bells & whistles; the barebones operation of most wholesalers actually means that all they really care about is doing the actual business, with no frills.
Great Stuff on Amazon
While I'm Thinking About It...
An important note to mention: Many of the wholesalers mentioned here will want your business name and Tax ID number. If you don't yet have these established, be sure to do so.
