Lohan Busted for DUI -- AGAIN!

Tue, July 24, 2007

Lindsay Lohan was arrested for drunk driving in Santa Monica early this morning -- her second bust in less than three months.

According to the L.A. County Sheriff's Dept., 21-year-old Lohan was nailed around 2:15 AM near Pico Boulevard and Main Street early Tuesday morning.

Just last week, Lohan was quietly booked by Beverly Hills PD for an alleged Memorial Day weekend DUI crash. She was due back in court on August 24 to face charges of driving with a blood alcohol level greater than .08 and misdemeanor hit and run.

Lindsay just turned 21 -- legal drinking age -- earlier this month. She's been voluntarily wearing a SCRAM alcohol monitoring bracelet for the past couple of weeks, even flaunting the device during a recent beach outing in Malibu.

The Good, the Bad or the Ugly?

The good:
The Apple iPhone has a stunning display, a sleek design, and an innovative multitouch user interface. Its Safari browser makes for a superb Web surfing experience, and it offers easy-to-use apps. As an iPod, it shines.

The bad:
The Apple iPhone has variable call quality and lacks some basic features found in many cell phones, including stereo Bluetooth support and 3G compatibility. Integrated memory is stingy for an iPod, and you have to sync the iPhone to manage music content.

The bottom line:
Despite some important missing features, a slow data network, and call quality that doesn't always deliver, the Apple iPhone sets a new benchmark for an integrated cell phone and MP3 player.

What is the new iPhone

If you've recently been released from a maximum-security prison or - shock horror - you just don't care that much about technology, then you might be wondering what all the fuss about the iPhone is. Instead of feeling bemused while your mates go on about how they want to buy one, and whether or not touchscreen interfaces are the future, read this article and wow them with your insightful comments and in-depth knowledge.

Why are links important

Search engine tips using links to your website to drive up your ratings in searches. You may also hear advice from people to link to the sites of others often. Both of these are great ideas.

The Internet is built on links. One site links to another site which links to another site this gives it a weblike structure. And search engines like Google have figured out that an excellent way to determine which sites are relevant is to see how many links are tracked to it.

The more your site has,the more likely it is that people consider it important.

One of the best ways to collect links to your site is to link to the sites of other people this is called reciprocal linking. It's even better if yours make you money. Amazon and other retail websites have an affiliate program: you place links on your site to books and other items on their sites that your customers might be interested in. When your customers click on these links to purchase items, you get a commission from it.

But you might just want to offer them on your website to help your customers find things they are interested in. Links, unfortunately, are the best way to lose traffic and potential customers; people click away and then can't find you again.

To prevent this, set up your links in HTML so that they create a popup window instead of opening in your website; this way, your customer can very easily return to your website.

The more intelligent linking you can do with other websites, and the more links you can get them to attach to your website, the more likely your site will be placed high in search engine results. And if you have really good links, your customers will be more likely to come back to your website again and again.

Paris found God?

Herald Sun -- PARIS Hilton believes her jail sentence was a message from God to change her party-loving lifestyle and become a positive role model for people who look up to her.

"My spirit or soul did not like the way I was being seen and that is why I was sent to jail -- God has released me," she said. "I feel that the purpose of my life is to be where I am.

Judges Orders Paris Back to Jail for full 45-day Sentence

Paris Drunk in Court?

LOS ANGELES - A screaming, crying Paris Hilton was ordered back to jail Friday to serve out the remainder of her 45-day sentence for a parole violation in a reckless driving case.

"It's not right!" shouted the weeping Hilton. "Mom!" she called out to her mother in the audience.

A witness said Hilton was "physically escorted" out of the courtroom by a female deputy.

Hilton's mother, Kathy Hilton, was later seen pacing the hallways, telling reporters, "I'm paralyzed right now."

The heiress will get credit for the five days she already served.

Hilton, 26, arrived in court Friday afternoon, sneaking past the media for the hearing that determined she was to be sent back to be jail. The sheriff's department that released her from prison picked her up at her home under judge's orders.

The reality star came into the courtroom disheveled and weeping. Her hair was askew and she wore a gray fuzzy sweatshirt over slacks. She wore no makeup and she cried throughout the hearing.

Her body also shook constantly as she dabbed at her eyes. Several times she turned to her parents, seated behind her in the courtroom, and mouthed, "I love you."

The Sherriff concedes he is not above the law

LOS ANGELES - Under the orders of the judge who sentenced Paris Hilton, the sheriff's department that released her from prison picked her up at her home on Friday to attend a court hearing that will determine whether she gets sent back to jail.

Hilton said goodbye to her parents and was seen entering the sheriff's car, and she appeared to be taken away in handcuffs.

At 1:30 p.m. ET she was on her way to the courthouse, which is about 11 miles away from her home.

Superior Court Judge Michael T. Sauer's decision to have Hilton brought to court was announced by court spokesman Allan Parachini shortly before the hearing had been scheduled to start at noon ET.

"Judge Sauer has instructed the Sheriff's Department to go to Ms. Hilton's residence, pick her up and bring her here. That is happening now," Parachini told reporters outside the courthouse.

Earlier, the court announced that Hilton would not physically appear in a Los Angeles courthouse as she was ordered to do, but would attend the hearing via telephone.

The 26-year-old hotel heiress was headed for a courtroom showdown Friday that could put her back behind bars, as prosecutors sought to hold sheriff's officials in contempt for releasing her early from jail.

May 17: Hilton drops an appeal of her jail sentence.

Paris Hilton in Peril of Going Back to Jail

Heiress' Fate to Be Decided During Court Hearing

LOS ANGELES (June 8) - Rarely has it been the simple life for Paris Hilton these days. The hotel heiress was headed for a courtroom showdown Friday that could put her back behind bars, as prosecutors sought to hold sheriff's officials in contempt for releasing her early from jail.
Hilton was ordered to report to court at 9 a.m. and will be brought in a sheriff's vehicle from her Hollywood Hills home, said Superior Court spokesman Allan Parachini.

The frenzy began early Thursday when sheriff's officials released Hilton because of an undisclosed medical condition and sent her home under house arrest. She had been in jail for three days.

Hilton was fitted with an electronic monitoring ankle bracelet and was expected to finish her 45-day sentence for a reckless driving probation violation at her four-bedroom, three-bath home.

The decision by Sheriff Lee Baca to move Hilton chafed prosecutors and Superior Court Judge Michael T. Sauer, who spelled out during sentencing that Hilton was not allowed to serve house detention.

Late Thursday, Sauer issued the order for Hilton to return to court after the city attorney filed a petition demanding that Hilton be returned to jail and to show cause why Baca shouldn't be held in contempt of court.

Baca does not have to be in court, and it was unclear who would represent the Sheriff's Department.

The move also was met with outrage from the sheriff's deputies union, members of the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors, civil rights leaders, defense attorneys and others.

"What transpired here is outrageous," county Supervisor Don Knabe told The Associated Press, adding he received more than 400 angry e-mails and hundreds more phone calls from around the country.

Hilton's return home "gives the impression of ... celebrity justice being handed out," he said.

Shortly before noon, Hilton issued a statement through her attorney. "I want to thank the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department and staff of the Century Regional Detention Center for treating me fairly and professionally," she said. "I am going to serve the remaining 40 days of my sentence. I have learned a great deal from this ordeal and hope that others have learned from my mistakes."

Obviously to be continued ......

Celebrity Justice AGAIN ?

Paris Hilton has not only had her sentence cut short, she is already out of jail!

Unimpeachable sources tell that the deal was sealed yesterday, and that Hilton made her exit early early this morning.

She was originally sentenced to 45 days in jail, but that was reduced to 23. She served a total of five days -- the normal stay for a violation of this kind. Her five days began Sunday night and concluded early Thursday morning.

The L.A. County Sheriff's Department will hold a news conference in an hour to discuss what went down.

The rich have been exploiting the legal system from the dawn of history. This is just another example of how the rich and famous are getting away with murder. Should a poor person have done half of what this spoilt little brat had done, they would still be in jail and paying their debt to society.

Hopefully when she is drunk or under the influence of whatever the mood takes her tonight, at some Club, she will not be driving and endangering the lives of innocent people.

Digital Camera Buying Guide

Digital Camera Buying Guide
By: Sally Walker Davies

When it comes to shopping for a digital camera, theres a lot more to consider than mega pixels or brand.

And with so many styles of cameras, with so many features in so many price ranges, buying a digital camera can seem a lot like torture.

The first step is to discover what kind of photographer you are or hope to be. By asking yourself the following questions, you can determine the digital camera that's the perfect fit.

How much can I spend? Your budget will determine what features you can afford - but don't think a low budget necessarily means low quality.

What kind of photos will I take? A budding Ansel Adams will want all the bells and whistles of a conventional single lens reflex (SLR) camera, with a max amount of megapixels; a mom cataloging family vacations will want durability and the ease of point-and-shoot.

What size photos will I print or use? If you're primarily an email / print at home / share on the Web kind of photographer, or one who plans to print 8 x 10 glossies, then a 4-or-5 megapixel will do the trick. But for those who want to create wall art above that size, a good 8-mp camera is the best bet.

What features do I want? Clear action photos require a quick shutter, the chance to capture video means you'll need a camera with a built-in video recorder. Consider which options you have to have, and those you won't use, in your research.

Once you've determined your budget, shooting style and how you'll print and share photos, it's on to the store, to choose the type of camera that best meets your needs.

Some Things To Consider When Evaluating Your Website

Published by Electronicstoreusa.com

You have either put a lot of effort into your website or you have paid someone else a lot of money to put the effort in for you. Either way, whatever the purpose of the website, you want to get the most out of it. The question now becomes, how you can tell if your website is likely to succeed. Why?The first thing to do is to ask yourself why you have set up the website. Are you trying to sell a product or provide information or something else? What do you want to happen when a visitor lands on your pages? "For a man without a destination no wind is favourable" (An old saying attributed to many). If you do not know exactly what you want to happen, how can you expect the visitors to your website to know and do it? You are the one who ought to have the site set up to direct people to their destination. If you don't know what that is, then all is lost.

Your visitors probably know why they visited your site. You too must know why they came and help them do what they came to do. If your website does not provide what they need they will move on to another one. Just because you are getting all the traffic you could hope for does not mean that your site will succeed.Your Website's Conversion RateYou will need to measure your success rate. There are a number of ways to do this. One is the Conversion rate. Simply put, the conversion rate is the rate at which you convert visitors into buyers. Or if you are not selling it is the rate at which you convince people to do whatever it is you need them to do. It could be to sign up for your newsletter of subscribe to something else, etc. If you have one hundred visitors to your website per day and you convert two, your conversion rate is two percent.

It is a reasonably good measure of the quality of your website. If your site is not converting, you will know that you need to make changes to the site. However, it could also mean that you marketing or advertising campaign is sending untargeted traffic to your site. In other words sending visitors who are not in the least bit interested in what you have to offer.

Online Shopping for Inkjet Cartridges

Online Shopping for Inkjet Cartridges

Written by senthil alwar

Thursday, 10 May 2007

If in case you are using inkjet printer then you must be using inkjet printer cartridges as well, because inkjet printer cannot be used with inkjet cartridges. If you are holding a black and white copy printer then you require only one inkjet cartridges. It would hold the black ink, which your printer uses when printing a page. If in case you are holding color printer then you require two or more color inkjet cartridges. You can also keep the colors in separate cartridges it simply means that you only require to replace the color cartridge that has finish and it is cheaper than replacing them all.Inkjet cartridge is normally small plastic container, which hold container for the ink that your printer uses. These are made up of individual sizes for the different makes and models of printers. When you purchase a replacement, you require making sure that you are purchasing the right inkjet cartridge for the inkjet printer you have. Manufacturers always suggest that you purchase their brand for their machines but you normally have the option of purchasing other brands that are compatible. You could also shop online for inkjet cartridges. As most of the web sites provide convenient home deliveries, you could have them delivered to your office or home. This permits you to order the precise ones, which you require and forever have a supply on hand. You could as well store to have a substitute handy in case you run out of ink in the middle of a significant printing work.

If you believe purchasing ink cartridges online then you would see that the prices of the inkjet cartridges over the internet are comparatively less than the cost of purchasing ink cartridges from an office supply store. Once you have determined on the make of inkjet cartridges then you can simply compare prices. You would find that it is cheaper to order your inkjet cartridges online. If you select to reuse your old ink cartridge, then a refill kit might be the answer. It comes with easy to follow instructions and simple to use ink refill system.Article Source: http://www.ArticleBlast.com

Disney Chases MySpace Dollars

Disney Chases MySpace Dollars

Disney Chases MySpace Dollars

Any parent who's seen 'Dateline's To Catch a Predator' knows to be cautious when it comes to their kids playing around in the virtual playgrounds of social networking sites such as MySpace. So, it should come as welcome relief to learn that Disney has launched its own social networking site: Disney Xtreme Digital.

The site is targeted at kids under 14 and has all the bells and whistles you'd expect. Youngsters can create profiles, chat, play games and watch videos. And since this is Disney we're talking about, parental controls have been made a priority, allowing Mom and Dad to restrict access to areas of the site.

But one wonders: Is Disney trying to give our kids a safe place to explore online, or make some coin by shoving Disney content down their throats?

Blogging and media-sharing on the Internet are super hot right now, with no signs of fading any time soon. Web sites with videos, personal content and gossip are raking in advertising dollars with each click of the mouse.

You can become a professional blogger, too. Web sites such as www.eefoof.com allow you to post videos and photographs, and then receive a percentage of the site's revenue, which is generated from advertising associated with page views and clicks to the content posted by you. The harder you work to promote your own videos and photos, the more money you'll earn.

Another way to make money is to create your very own blog at www.blogger.com . Set up your own page and create captivating content to lure readers to your stuff. Then add the site's AdSense feature, which allows advertisements to be included on the page. Every time a viewer clicks through on the advertisement on your blog page, cha-ching! Keep in mind this only works if you're committed to creating a blog that others would find fascinating -- and you hustle to attract readers to build a following for yourself.

iPhone Coming in June

Could it be that Apple fans finally have a date to mark on their calendars? According to Engadget (via CNET), that may be the case. AT&T, the mobile provider formerly known as Cingular, has officially confirmed an unofficial release date of June 11th. Normally we wouldn't put much weight behind announcements like this, but given that June 11 just happens to be the same date as Apple's Worldwide Developers Conference, there looks to be truth here.

If you've not been under a rock or imprisoned, you already know that the iPhone is Apple's foray into the embattled cell phone market, where it hopes to do to phones what it did to the MP3 players with the iPod. The iPhone will have a touch-screen display, built-in camera, and will of course play tunes and videos. For now AT&T will be the exclusive provider of this phone and will sell a 4 gigabyte version for $499 and an 8 gigabyte version for $599 (each requiring a two year contract).

Wi-Fi iPod

USI is hardly a household name, but there's a good chance that you own a product or two manufactured by the company. USI is the primary manufacturer for Apple, and it has hinted it will be building an updated iPod for the company that includes Wi-Fi.
Details are scant, and there is no mention of a touch screen or how the Wi-Fi features will be implemented.

Apple is usually lauded for being innovative and ahead of the curve technologically, but it will be among the last to hop on the Wi-Fi-enabled media player bandwagon. Music Gremlin was one of the first, pioneering the use of the wireless technology in the media player field. Now everyone from Microsoft to Archos has stuffed a Wi-Fi module into their players. And yet, who cares? The iPod was hardly the first jukebox-style digital audio player when it first came out in 2001, but it was thanks to Apple that the technology became the global success that it is today. Will Apple do the same for wireless music?

We all just have to hope that the Wi-Fi iPod will be more Sansa Connect and less Microsoft Zune.

BlackBerry Service Restored to Most Users

BlackBerry Service Restored to Most Users

TORONTO (April 18) - Research In Motion Ltd. said on Wednesday that BlackBerry service has been restored to most users of the wireless e-mail device after a service interruption that affected customers in North America.

The company said in a statement it's reviewing the root cause of the interruption, which occurred Tuesday night, and is "closely monitoring systems to maintain normal service levels."

RIM has about 8 million subscribers who use various models of its ubiquitous BlackBerry . The device has become a staple for lawyers, business people and other professionals, but has yet to reach similar mass-market popularity.

RIM's often-volatile shares, which can regularly lose or gain between 1 and 3 percent in a trading session, were down just 27 cents at $131.00 on Nasdaq. On the Toronto Stock Exchange, they fell C$1.00 to C$147.82.

While RIM has remained a stock-market darling because of its growth prospects and the rave reviews it has received for its device lineup, the service outage is the latest in a string of recent stumbles for the Waterloo, Ontario-based company.

Earlier this month, it revealed that it is now facing a formal investigation by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission over historical stock-option grants. The SEC earlier had been conducting an informal inquiry.

As well, investors dumped its shares in wake of its fourth-quarter results which met, but didn't exceed, expectations.

It is still working to get its financial filings up to date following a $250-million earnings restatement it announced last month related to mistakes in how it granted stock options in the past. Jim Balsillie, the company's co-CEO, gave up his dual role as the company's chairman when the restatement was disclosed.

Most analysts have noted the SEC investigation but have not cited it as a top concern.

A Hollywood Horror Story

Le Tub used to be a delicious little hideaway on the Intracoastal across from Hollywood Beach, veiled from the street by a stand of leafy palms and used bathtubs. It's still with us, of course, but it hasn't been much of a hideaway since June, when GQ magazine proclaimed, somewhat morbidly, that you must try their hamburgers "before you die."

For two months now, the place has been a destination for Land Rover-driving condo vacationers in search of a "real" South Florida experience. "This used to be a fun place to work" says John, the very image of a trusted beachside bartender, with curly graying hair and the kinds of wrinkles on his face that come from squinting into the sun too long.

But the palmy, golden days disappeared last month like loose money on a sidewalk. It happened within days of the publication of what the staff has come to call "The Article."

"This used to be a place you'd come with a girl or some buddies to meet a girl," John says. "Now we got children in strollers. I used to be a bartender; now I'm a soda jerk."

With the cranky new demeanor of Le Tub's suddenly beleaguered staff, that sense of loss often sloshes over onto the customers too. The instant fame of the place, combined with its diminutive size, means that customers frequently wait an hour for a burger. The kitchen often runs out of food by the end of the night, and for a select few patrons, Le Tub has turned downright dangerous.

When Sandi Sanford and her friend Bianca Gonzales visited the place two weeks ago to celebrate Sandi's birthday, they never bargained on being used for target practice by a guy whom they say was a drunken, Australian-sounding waiter.

"He began flicking frozen shrimp at Bianca," Sandi said.

His first salvo hit Sandi's friend square in the eye. Stunned and momentarily blinded, Bianca reeled. The waiter responded by sending another prawn projectile their way. This one hit Bianca on the cheek.

According to the ladies, the waiter was reluctant to apologize but finally offered a grudging, "Sorry, I was aiming lower," and bought a round of beers.

The gesture was not enough to assuage the ladies. They confronted the cook, whom they contend was also the manager. Sandi recalls that when Bianca approached him, he wheeled on her and screamed, "What do you want, you ****ing **tch!?! Somebody get this ****ing **tch a beer and shut her up."

Top Factors Affecting Positive Search Engine Rankings

The jury of search engine experts over at SEOMoz has weighed in, and here are the top factors affecting search engine placement, according to them, with my comments.

1. Keyword Use in Title Tag
I have said for many years that if I had a gun to my head, and could do only one thing to a web page to optimize it, my choice would be the title tag. Put your keyphrases in your title tag, and remember to optimize each page individually (i.e. don't overstuff your title tag, and have different title tags for each page that reflect the content of that particular page - otherwise, you may suffer from a duplicative content exclusion and find yourself in the supplemental results).

2. Keyword Use in Body Text
Duh. If your keyword or keyphrase isn't mentioned at least once in the body text of the web page, then it does not seem your page is very relevant to that keyphrase, now does it? But don't get all caught up in the keyphrase density myth - there is no magic number of times it should appear. Make sense to readers, and it will make sense to the search engines.

3. Relationship of Body Text Content to Keywords (Topic Analysis)
Google is smarter than you give them credit for, and just stuffing a keyphrase into a completely unrelated page won't do you much, if any good. Your page should be on a topic which is semantically related to the keyphrase which you are targeting in your title tag. 4. Keyword Use in H1 Tag
Oh, for years the naysayers have been telling me that H1 tag keyphrase use meant nothing and that I was an idiot for thinking otherwise. Well the verdict is in and this is the fourth most important factor according to the SEOMoz article. At this point, therefore, we have learned to put your keyphrase in your title tag, include it in your body text, which body text is topically or semantically related to the keyphrase, and head up the body text with an H1 containing the keyphrase.5. Keyword Use in Domain Name
This is one that I disagree with. I have seen absolutely no evidence of this at all. Do a simple search on the internet for most any search term, and chances are the top results do not have the search query in the domain name. I believe this may have minor importance, but don't go and change your domain because of it. Seriously, you have much more to lose (such as age of domain, inbound linkage, site reputation, etc.) I regularly see clients at the top of Google with domain names containing nothing near the relevant search terms.

Edwards' Haircuts Cost a Pretty Penny

WASHINGTON (April 17) - Looking pretty is costing John Edwards' presidential campaign a lot of pennies. The Democrat's campaign committee picked up the tab for two haircuts at $400 each by celebrity stylist Joseph Torrenueva of Beverly Hills, Calif., according to a financial report filed with the Federal Election Commission.

FEC records show Edwards also availed himself of $250 in services from a trendy salon and spa in Dubuque, Iowa, and $225 in services from the Pink Sapphire in Manchester, N.H., which is described on its Web site as "a unique boutique for the mind, body and face" that caters mostly to women.

A spokeswoman for Edwards' campaign did not respond to requests for comment.

Torrenueva - who specializes in men's haircuts - confirmed in an interview with The Associated Press that Edwards is a longtime client and friend.

"I do cut his hair and I have cut it for quite a while," Torrenueva said. "We've been friends a long time."

Referring to a picture of Edwards published Tuesday in The Los Angeles Times, Torrenueva said: "That's my cut." The stylist said he couldn't vouch for the source of Edwards' haircuts in other photos.

One reason the cost of the cut was so steep even by Beverly Hills standards is that Torrenueva went to Edwards rather than the candidate coming into the stylist's salon a block off Rodeo Drive.

"I go to him wherever convenient," Torrenueva said. He declined to identify where the cuts paid for by the campaign took place.

Campaign records also show the former North Carolina senator's campaign paid $248 on March 1 to the Designworks Salon in Dubuque.

According to Designworks' Web site, the salon and spa features a wide variety of beauty and health services, including massages, facials, body polishes, self tanners, and rosemary mint and Caribbean therapy body wraps.

The salon's owners did not return a call.
