Study the Bible to Learn How Your Life Can Be Better

Exciting reading! Truth! Messages of hope and inspiration! Trial, defeat, and heartache! Betrayal! Gruesome Horror! Love, tenderness, and happiness!
All in one book ---The Bible. Yes, there are miracles, too!

Many people think that the Bible is a "dull" read. Perhaps you get that impression from how the scriptures are read at the church they attend, or perhaps they have tried to read it themselves, or maybe they have just heard that it's boring. All that means is that you have not been hooked up with a Bible study that brings this collection, of 66 books together, into high definition for you.

I will concede that if a person just reads the Bible like any other book, they may find it a little lack luster; at first glance. However, I can say emphatically, that if a person decides that instead of just reading the Bible, they are going to study the Bible; then the whole scene changes.

Getting Started Reading the Bible

The great thing about God is He also created a way for us to enjoy everything He created. The Bible, which is the inspired word of God, gives us the roadmap and the guidelines to how to get the most out of life. Perhaps you have never read the Bible. Or like many, many people, you don't understand the Bible. It's okay. Look at it like this, the Bible is like a foreign language to you. If you were to pick up a text in another language, that you were not familiar with, you wouldn't understand it either.

A new Christian has to learn how to read the Bible, in the same way a person learns a language. If they learn it from childhood, they will be more familiar in adulthood. If they don't start reading the Bible until they are adults, it may be more difficult to get started. The Bible is to be read and studied. Just like you would study a foreign language: 1) You would memorize some things, 2) You would repeat some things over and over, 3) You would test yourself on some passages. You know: STUDY. In order to understand, comprehend, and have the TRUTH in the Bible revealed to you, study will be necessary. It is not an overnight process. Just pick it up daily and start to read.

Study (Don't Just Read) the Bible

Full of the information that people need to live healthy, prosperous, and victorious lives, the Bible is chock full of stories about people, situations, and most of all "Truths" about life. You'll find examples of what to do, what "not" to do, how to deal with situations, cautions about what to avoid. Most of all the Bible reveals how we are and how God wants us to be.

The Bible is an exciting, adventurous, and highly educational tool that was authored over a 1,600 year period by 40 different people most of whom never met each other. The Bible has been translated so that more people can have access to it's vast wealth of information. Various versions of the Bible have been developed for comprehension by more people.

Children Need to Learn the Word of God

Why Study the Bible (Part 4 of 15)

Why Read the Bible if You Already Have Everything?

If you have everything (material possessions) that is great. Yet, the Bible teaches that it is not okay to "believe in" things or people. Things come and go.

People disappoint. Only one thing remains true. God is real even though we can not see or touch Him. Just as air is real, just as no man has ever created a grain of sand, just as the planets remain in alignment, God is in control. Seek the wisdom of God in all that you do. If your life is already good, it will get better. Fear, distress, pain, heartache, broken promises will not destroy you when you know for sure that God "has your back."

Why Study the Bible (Part 5 of 15)

My Life Sucks, What Can the Bible Do For Me?

If your life sucks, then the Holy Bible is tailor-made for you. In His Word (the Bible) God explains how to become successful and how to stay out of trouble. It covers such topics as health, wealth, relationships, and politics. Some say the Bible is "Back Instructions Before Leaving Earth." If not that, it sure is a definite life saver, life giver, pain killer, soother, rejuvenator.

Summary

Only one thing remains true. God is real even though we can not see or touch Him. Just as air is real, just as no man has ever created a grain of sand, just as the planets remain in alignment, God is in control. Seek the wisdom of God in all that you do. If your life is already good, it will get better. Fear, distress, pain, heartache, broken promises will not destroy you when you know for sure that God "has your back."
