The Right Way
To get rid of the fat and keep it off, you need to change. Change the way you think of food, your eating habits; ie. what you eat and how often you eat it.
Skipping breakfast, and having fast food lunches and a big dinner are not the best way to go about losing fat.
Having a good breakfast, lunch and dinner, with a healthy snack mid morning, and mid afternoon, is a better way to go. When I say good, I don't mean a good drive through. It only takes ten minutes to have a bowl of cereal or a toasted bagel in the morning.
You can pack yourself a good lunch the night before [I know I like to sleep a little later in the morning]. As for the dinners, plan ahead. Get some things ready the night before, cook and store a few things on the weekend
Here's a good one, teach older children how to use the kitchen. They can help start things, and they'll also know what their doing when they get out on their own.
Now, about those snacks. I'm not talking a whole bag of chips, or a jumbo candy bar, oh no my friend. I'm talking about something sensible, like some fruit, a small bag of microwave popcorn [low fat of course], some healthy crackers. Do you get the idea?

The only good way to loose fat and maintain a healthy weight is through proper nutrition and moderation not fads or starvation. Metabolizing calories = burning calories. So, it stands to reason that the more your body metabolizes, the more calories you burn, right? Right.
So, how do you get your body to metabolize more? EAT! Not more, but more often. Also, you want to be eating the right things, in the right amounts. I'm not saying that eating a slice of pizza or a small bag of chips is bad, I'm saying that "junk food" should be eaten in moderation.
Make your food count, make it good for your body. Lean proteins, fruits and veggies, etc. all the good stuff Mom wanted you to eat.
