Wicca - What Is Wicca?
So what is Wicca?
Wicca is a relatively new Pagan religion. For more read below...
Gardner's religion was based on pre-existing spiritual concepts, which he combined in a new way to form a new system.
He mixed ceremonial magick with hereditary Witchcraft and Masonic ritual and created the new and dynamic pagan religion known as Wicca.
Many use the word Witchcraft and Wicca as being the one and the same. This is not necessarily the case. As not all Wiccan's practice Witchcraft. Many do - but not all.
One reason Wicca and Witchcraft (within Wicca) is so poplar is that it tends to focus on the individual as Wiccans are taught to think for themselves and to take responsibility for their lives.
Wiccan's are expected to live by the Wiccan Rede which says: "An ye harm none, do what ye will".
There are within Wicca many different subgroups or Traditions. These include:
* Gardnerian Wicca
* Alexandrian Wicca
* Dianic Wicca
* Eclectic Wicca
* Strega Wicca
