Remodeling can be stressful. You have different personalities and dynamics on every project. The last thing you need is an Interior Designer that doesn't get along with your builder. It happens more often than you think. Mixing these personalitiy types can be like trying to combine oil with water.

So how has the Get Cooking couple made it all these years? Wichita's award winning design and build team featured on the DIY Network have been building custom homes, baths and kitchens for almost 20 years together. Eric jokes, "I'm scared to tell her no. Seriously, Mary has always been a visionary that pushes the limits of design. She is passionate about the finished project and her customers. She knows her stuff. I trust her cabinet designs more than most tape measures."

What's it like working with your husband everyday? Mary says, "He's not your typical contractor. He's up early and out the door before most people are even awake. He's even punctual. We also grew up together and have developed a respect for one another's expertise. You don't come to me when you want to run a gas line to your cooktop, nor do you ask Eric what color to paint your walls. We dance well together and the customers can see that."
