You thinking of buying one of those Nintendo Wii Consoles ?
Are you thinking of buying your very own Wii Systems ? Well I had the same thought.. Last year these so called Nintendo Wii Consoles were all the rage with people going crazy buying them... Then came the snapping of the wrist straps and destruction of many plasma screens... This all seemed pretty crazy to be honest and I didn't understand what all the hype was about. But I was soon to find out....
Only the Best Deals....
Why did I eventually buy one of those Wii Systems? and was it any good?
Puchasing one of those petite Nintendo Wii Consoles was not something which to be honest was top of my agenda. My son had his DS Lite and I had my pc which I gamed on occasionally, I had played on my younger brothers XBox 360 and my nephews play station 3 and must admit that the 1080p graphics are pretty amazing and very comparable to my high end pc. In comparison the standard quality on the Wii was and still is pretty poor.
When mario karts first came out however, I was out shopping with my young son who is six years old and on of the game shops has a demo unit setup with mario karts running. So we nipped in and had a try... and the outcome?
Well, I thought the movement (via the sensors) was ingenious and unlike any other gaming platform I had played on before.. and it was excellent fun for both me and my son.. needless to say I bought one the same day :)
The unit I purchased came with Wii Sports, with the bowling now a family favorite and is tremendous fun. We now have bowling parties at home and even invite my son friends and other family member across to join in.
If you looking to maybe get a Wii yourself, I would recommend the following benefits:
One thing I would recommend though is to buy some component cables and set the resolution at 480p which is dvd quality. This does make a big difference in the picture quality on the screen..
We also havn't gone crazy and bought a ton of games and the games we have purchased have been excellent and ones I would recommend if you are buying games to play as a family
All in all I believe that this has been a good purchase and my son is now a lot more active since we have bought the console. This is both whilst playing and not playing the Wii Games.
As a surprise as well for my wife, she has a Wii Fit waiting for her off santa for xmas. Just hope she doesn't use it when I have stuff to watch on the TV :)

If you looking to maybe get a Wii yourself, I would recommend the following benefits:
- Gives you a console you can play together with your kids or parents
- The sensor is pretty discreet so simply blends in with your tv
- The menu system is very very simple and easy to use
- The wireless controllers mean no cables or wires like other consoles
- The Wii is very small and portable, so there is no problem taking to a friends house.
- The Wii makes you move.. Yes, no longer can you be a couch potato and sit. This will get the kids off the sofa and jumping around like crazy people
- The Wii's price tag is a lot less expensive than the other consoles on the market

- Wii Sports (if it does not come with the package)
- Mario karts (this game is tremendous)
- Mario and Sonic Olympics
- Game Party is also good but check if you would be interested in the game types
All in all I believe that this has been a good purchase and my son is now a lot more active since we have bought the console. This is both whilst playing and not playing the Wii Games.
