The Wii Fit game begins with setting up your profile. Once you've given the Wii Fit game a little information on your physical fitness, you are ready to play.

The Wii Fit game offers a "core" workout that involves slow, controlled motions. This is accomplished with the Wii Fit balance board. The balance board develops your center of balance, which has been shown to have a lot to do with your overall health.

The Wii Fit Balance Board looks like a step aerobics board. It's able to support weights up to 300 lbs. It's able to measure weight and register pressure accurately when placed on flat surfaces. The Wii Fit software allows the balance board to recognize each player strictly by their weight.

Part of setting up your Wii Fit game profile is determining your Wii Fit Age. You start by entering your age and height information. Then you do some quick tests that give the Wii Fit game a baseline for your level of physical fitness.

The game calculates your Body Mass Index or BMI (a measure of body fat based on height and weight)by using the age and height information you entered. When you stand on the Wii Fit Balance Board, it determines your weight and records your BMI.

Once you've checked your BMI, a balance test will determine your Wii Fit Age. The test measures how well you control your left and right balance. It combines this information with your BMI and your center of gravity to calculate your Wii Fit Age.

The Wii Fit game allows you to recheck your BMI and Wii Fit Age as your physical fitness improves from playing the game.
