Use your wii to download free games, movies and more!

With the cost of games going up and up, many gamers don't realise that a large part of what they are paying for is the packaging that comes with the game. Those fancy booklets push up the cost to the manufacturer and hence the price gamers are paying.

There is good news though! For many titles you are now able to buy the game online and download it right to your Wii console ready to play. No trip to the shops required! And there's more. You can also download music, movies and TV shows!

Now what if I was to tell you that for the price of a single store bought game, you could be downloading unlimited Wii game forever? Choosing between the two would be an easy choice wouldn't it?

Well, today is your lucky day!

Wii media downloads is a site I have used a lot and it is fantastic! If you want to download great wii games and more for a tiny price, you can sign up to Wii media downloads!

What kind of Wii download games can I get?

Games you wouldn't have got anywhere else

One of the best things about Wii download games is the price. Downloadable games are often very low cost, and even free in some cases! With most download services all you need to do is pay a small fee each month and you can download as much as your wii can hold! Even then you can just delete what you don't need and download more, the possibilities are endless.

For example recently using this service I downloaded several of my favourite TV shows and watched them at my own leisure. If I had gone to a shop or store, that would have cost me a lot of my hard earned money AND wasted my time getting there and back.

How can I tell if a download service is illegal?

The short answer is, any service that claims to let you download free wii games without any sort of sign-up is probably highly illegal and could get you into serious trouble and may even cause you to be fined. To be on the safe side you should go with services that require a small monthly fee that almost guarantees they are legitimate.

I highly recommend Wii Media for downloading wii games. I use them myself and they're great and completely legal!

Don't be fooled by free software that comes with viruses and is illegal. You will pay much more in the long run!

Why downloadable content opens the door to bedroom devleopers

And hence more innovative games

Wii Downloads at Wii Media!

A problem with the mass appeal of the Wii is that too many games companies are simply cashing in on its success by releasing low quality games that they know will still sell well. Too many publishers are scared to release games that are a bit different, so Wii gamers are being fed a diet of rehashed, unoriginal games. There are of course exceptions, but for every good game there seems to be at least five bad ones.

Bedroom developers aren't restricted to big publishers safety requirements when it comes to being innovative, but have been unable to afford to cost of getting their games seen by the general public. Historically, bedroom developers have been the innovative ones but it has been harder and harder for them to get noticed because of the cost of developing games.

However, there has been a recent change in the landscape when it comes to bedroom developers. On the PC, the ability to download games directly from a website has meant small developers can get their games distributed for a fraction of the cost. This trend has grown in strength on the PC, and has started to be noticed by console companies. Unfortunately Nintendo have been a bit slow on the uptake, but are beginning to come around to online gaming in general. Luckily though, independent companies have begun to take on the role of helping bedroom developers by allowing gamers to download Wii games and content for a fraction of the price of store bought games.

To find out how you can download Wii Games straight to your console, take a look at Wii Media.

Why Wii Game Downloads Are The Future

We've all experienced the frustration of waiting for days to get a game, only to go into the shop to find that they've sold out. Or worse, don't even stock the game. PC gamers have for quite a while had the luxury of downloading games directly to their PC, and with broadband connections getting ever faster, downloading games without the hassle of going to a store is becoming more and more popular.

Consoles, and especially Nintendo's, have been lagging behind the PC for some time. Nintendo's friend code system seems dated compared to the wide range of gaming options on the PC, including the steam platform which allows for so much more flexibility.

This isn't the first time that big companies have been a little slow on the uptake, and I believe it is only a matter of time before Nintendo catch on and start broadening their online options. However there is no way it is going to happen before the next generation console after the Wii comes out, so for now we have to make do with what Nintendo are providing.

The good news is that while Nintendo have been slow, third party companies have seen the opportunity to provide games, extra content and more direct to users consoles. With these services there is no chance of a game being sold out, and no trip to the store is required, which is why I believe we are starting to see the future of gaming emerge.
Another reason gamers should be happy about downloadable games is that they are much cheaper and more varied than store bought games.
