Why I love antiques and vintage items

Welcome to wildrosetreasureCollectibles I have been interested in antiques and collectibles all my life. I look at the new things on the market today and compare the workmanship to the vintage items. There is no comparison. Today's items are made fast and cheap lacking the pride of yesteryears.

Have you noticed how fast a new house can be built today? Its mostly prefab and I wonder if those houses will still be standing a hundred years from today like my house.
Now my over 100 year old house is built from solid wood all hand constructed. Sure some of the windows are not squared off and the glass is old flint and rippled but that just adds character to it.

Most vintage and antique items do have a few flaws but some of the flaws add beauty to the items. I guess the old saying is true and beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
