Wind Generators For Home Use - Where To Place Them?
Ideally you want to put your wind generator where it's going to catch the most wind. This means the less obstacles around your wind generator the better. The higher you can place your wind generator the greater the electrical output is going to be.I've got my smaller wind generators close to the ground and they do just fine. I just made sure that they were high enough that they wouldn't hit someone or some animal. So unless I get visited by giraffes I should be ok.
Don't put your wind generators right next to your house or under a tree, try to find a place where the wind whips through, and that's the place you want your wind generator.

WInd Generators For Home Use - Different Sizes Different Start Speeds
Something important you should consider when deciding the size of the wind generators for your home is the start speeds. My larger wind generator starts at 8mph and has a high electrical output, while my smaller generators start at 4mph winds. If you live in an area where there isn't a lot of wind you might want to consider two smaller wind generators instead of one large one. I use all three, a lesson I learned from melting my battery bank... but that's another story.
They only generate electricity when they spin. I'd rather have two smaller output wind generators spinning than one larger one sitting stationary. Mix in a variable of wind generators and you can start cranking out some serious electricity.
I made my two smaller wind generators from plans on www.thegridenergy.com.
The Best Wind Generators For Home Use
I get a sense of accomplishment every time I feel the wind blow, and that is priceless. I know I'm helping the environment and seriously reducing my costs at the same time. It's a really great feeling. I'd say the best wind generators for your home is one that you use. Once you start using wind for energy you'll be hooked. It's fun and rewarding.
