Essential Tools for Installation

Your blinds and shades will come with full installation instructions. However, there are certain things that you should always have in your tool belts. Tools are very important for a smooth installation, especially if the location is in a difficult spot, such as over the kitchen sink.
  • Steel tape measure
  • An electric or battery powered hand drill driver. If this is not available, then disregard the next item and use a ¼" screwdriver-style nut driver, at least 6" in total length. WARNING: Installation with a hand driver will take much longer.
  • A ¼" extended magnetic driver bit (hardened)- Also known as the "blind installers friend"; ¼" because it is the standard size of the screws that come with virtually all custom-made window treatments, extended 3-4" for easier access, magnetic to hold the screw by itself, and hardened to last more than 5 screws.
  • Pliers, both regular and needle nose.
  • A scratch awl, or "sharp 4-inch metal poker with a handle".
  • Phillips and flathead screwdrivers-do not attempt to solely use these 2 itens for installation. The installation screws that come with the blinds are usually not meant for any other driver than the ¼" nut driver (even though they are slotted for phillips or flathead) and will cause great anxiety to whoever tries to use anything else.
  • Small level

Arches and Shapes

Fabric and Wood Arches

Arch window treatments give you back control over the sun and allow you to enjoy your room once again. Arch window shades can be either fixed or moveable coverings. Arch window blinds are available in wood and cellular fabrics. Arch window shades are distinctive and inviting accents; arch blinds define the shape of the arch window making it a focal point of your experience - to relax and rejuvenate.
Recommended to:
. Block the sun's heat and glare
. Open a room up to more light, while keeping privacy

Fixed fabric arches block the sun while beautifully accenting your window. Fixed wood arches set each slat at a 45 degree angle to reflect the sun and reduce heat buildup in your room.Cellular fabric reduces heat buildup in your room while softly complimenting the rest of the cellular blinds in your room. Once set, forget about your arch and enjoy the cozy warmth fabric creates.

Cellular Shades

YourBlinds Cellular Shades

Cellular Shades are the most energy efficient window covering available today. Their honeycomb structure traps air for maximum energy efficiency and sound reduction. Cellular shades also give you the greatest number of options to control the light, including the very popular cordless feature. Additionally, when fully raised, they obstruct a very small portion of your view. Cellular blinds free you to:

. Save energy by lowering heating & cooling costs
. Reduce noise
. Enjoy your view
. Keep your privacy
. Be child safe

YourBlinds cellular shades are fashionable and functional. Cellular shades are a stylish shade that provides privacy and energy efficiency simultaneously. The cells of the honeycomb shade trap air in their cells that insulates your home. They reduce summer cooling costs and winter heating costs. The cells have an added bonus of reducing noise too.

YourBlinds cellular shades are available in single & double cell fabrics & 3 pleat sizes (3/8" single cell, 3/4" single cell and double cell). They are available in an array of colors and distinctive fabrics that provide varying degrees of light control and privacy from light filtering to room darkening. YourBlinds cellular shades are made of color-fast polyester and are simple to clean.
