Vista Is Not My Friend.
Windows XP vs Windows Vista
Which is the better OS: Windows XP or Windows Vista?
When I got a new PC, it had Vista on it. I want to downgrade to XP because too many things don't work right on Vista. It is slow and sometimes crashes.
I wish Microsoft would just pretend Vista never existed and go back to XP. What do you think?

Both are good. Vista is safer and less likely to get virus and a little bit more user friendly. However it also uses more memory and processing. I, being a speed freak prefer XP. The rumors of crashes are for ppl who dont have sp1.

XP is way lighter and faster then Vista,I know I have a newer pc that has Vista preinstalled and it hogs to many resources.I then downgraded (more like upgraded) to Windows XP and it's alot better and more faster.

Hello well frist off vista will run fine for tho who have the specs but all in all xp is a better os it run smother plus it take less space to save file on vista it takes more just because it looks 'cool' you can get the theme for vista on your xp also xp is safe just keep an up to date security protection vista is more of pain than it worth also look at the price

Lorena, when is the last time you looked at Vista? Did you try it back in 2007 with old drivers? How about how much system memory(RAM) was in that computer?
Vista CAN run faster than XP in many situations, as long as you have a fast enough system with enough memory. That may not ALWAYS be the case, but my own system(Athlon 64 X2 5600+ with 4GB RAM) shows a performance boost under Vista compared to XP.

Tried DOS, Windows 98, Windows XP, Windows 2000, Windows Vista, Xubuntu and Ubuntu.
Vista crashes and is hella slow. XP crashes and is hella slow over time. Ubuntu never crashes, is very fast, you can do everything, and is user-friendly.
But if you want me to chose, I'd really rather have Vista, it has grown ever more stable after its release, and especially after SP1.
And btw, the search function in the START menu is very convenient.
