Wine Country Gardens is only 45 minutes from downtown St. Louis, but the country living atmosphere makes you feel as if you were a world away.

Set on a hill in Missouri wine country, Wine Counry Gardens has a large nursery, a great wine tasting bar, and a wonderful patio cafe with both indoor and outdoor seating.

Enjoy good wine and wonderful food in a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere.

Lunch at Wine Country Gardens Patio Cafe

country living at it's best

I had my first experience at the Wine Country Gardens cafe on a wonderful spring afternoon. A group of my friends met there for a little wine tasting, a stroll around the gardens and a great lunch at the patio cafe.

Our first stop was the wine bar where we sampled three of the many wines that were offered. My favorite was a semi-sweet white German wine called Scheurebe-Kabinett-2005. The wine bar is set in a large room with big windows overlooking the valley. There are tables set about and you can also order from their appetizer menu and enjoy some nice treats with your wines. I would suggest their wonderful homemade chips and dips.
Next, we ordered our lunch. I ordered the special of the day, a chicken breast stuffed with sundried tomatoes and a brie cheese sauce. It was served with some great loaded mashed potatoes. The meal was very tasty and filling. At only $6.00 it was really a bargain.

My friends ordered the following sandwiches: Beef Tenderloin, The Defiance and the Portobello. Everyone ordered the homemade chips and all were pleased with their selections. All of the meals were under $10.

I'm looking forward to having lunch at the Wine country Gardens again and trying other menu items!

Lunch on the Patio

beautiful garden setting

On my second visit to Wine Country Gardens, my friend Beverly and I ate out on the patio. It was a beautiful September day and we really enjoyed the beautiful scenery and the great food.

Beverly had their Hawaiian Salad. It was full of great fried chicken, macadamia nuts, yellow and red peppers, and greens. It was served with a great tasting poppy seed dressing.

I had the special of the day, which was a Chicken Reuben. It was served an marbled bread and was delicious. it was served with their apple coleslaw.
