Wine Tasting Tour Tips

First of all, if you are someone that is considering going on a wine tour, you naturally must enjoy wine tasting, or at least sipping on a good wine. You don't need to be an expert on wines in order to have a great time going on a wine tour. A lot of people just go for the learning experience. By touring a winery and tasting their wines, you can find out what type of wine you specifically enjoy the most. You then get to purchase wine, either in cases or individual bottles to take home with you. Wine collectors tend to love to go on wine tours so they can add to their collections.

With its lovely photos of France, Italy, and Spain, it serves as a wine-lovers guide to places to visit or dream about, and wines to drink while doing so. I love the vineyards and enjoyed the wineries of Napa valley with my sister at the driving wheels. Even though I am not much of a person who claims to be a wine wizard, I love wines, their hues and aromas.

I would go on the tours simply for the beautiful scenery alone. I'm really not a drinker but I do enjoy a nice glass of a good Merlot or Chianti from time to time, especially if it is accompanying a fabulous Italian style meal. Lenrolling to "Sopranos Wines."

Okanagan Wine Tour Guide

John Schreiner's Okanagan Wine Tour Guide

Amazon Price: $7.99 (as of 02/12/2012)Buy Now

The lush Okanagan Valley is internationally acclaimed for its wine industry. Updated and revised with 30 percent new material, John Schreiner's Okanagan Wine Tour Guide provides succinct, insider profiles of each winery.

Included are thumbnail sketches of proprietors, winemakers, and well-known wineries as well as many new ones. Schreiner peppers the book with fascinating facts acquired through his winery visits: Crowsnest Vineyards offers a red wine from the improbably named Samtrot grape; Hunting Hawk Vineyards has a second winery at the historic O'Keefe Ranch in Vernon, British Columbia; and Two Thumbs Up was the name of the Okanagan's first $100-a-bottle Meritage wine.

Schreiner guides the wine tourist to the best wines by sharing his own favorites from the region. Maps, addresses, telephone numbers and website addresses round out this valuable tour guide.
