Wing Chun Kung Fu Hand Trapping
Wing Chun (also spelled Wing Tsun) is a Chinese form of martial arts which relies heavily on hand trapping combined with movement and speed during close-in fighting. Bruce Lee studied under Master Yip Man and borrowed heavily from Wing Chun in developing his own style of martial arts: Jun Fan Jeet Kune Do (or JKD).
Every Journey Begins Where It Begins...
Perhaps Your Journey Begins Right Now, Right Here.
Mastery is not so much a goal as it is a philosophy, an ideal, and a direction.
It means to begin, to do your very best, and to stay engaged on your path--in other words not to quit.
You already have the interest. All that is required of you at this moment is to take that first step...

I Say "Wing Chun", You Say "Wing Tsun", She Says "Ving Tsun"
Well, guess what, I've also seen it spelled "Wing Cheun", in Mandarin it's pronounced more or less "Yong Chun", but in Chinese Calligraphy it's written like this. A literal translation of the characters is "Singing Spring"According to legend this system of martial arts was first developed by a Buddhist nun specifically to enable a person of smaller stature to quickly overcome a larger, more powerful opponent.

Getting started on your journey requires a little courage and a single action...
- If you are new to or just thinking about the martial arts, I'd like to take a moment to encourage you. It's often said that the most difficult step in martial arts--the one that requires the most courage, is that first step. It takes guts to walk into a strange environment and step onto that mat for the first time. You may feel nervous and uncomfortable, and that's OK. If you've found a good school (and most of them are) you will find that the people there will make you feel welcome. Everyone there from the newest student (you) to the leader of the school (sometimes referred to as Sensei, Sifu, or Master) are on a journey of continual learning, self improvement and growth.
It won't be long before you are no longer "the new student", maybe you will have earned your first belt, who knows? In any case, you will eventually discover that it is the journey that counts in martial arts. Resist the urge to think "I'll be ready to start when..." Wherever you are right now is the perfect place for you to begin. (After all right here/right now is the only place that any journey can begin) All that is requred in order for you to begin your personal journey toward mastery is to take action now--take your first step--and then set incremental goals and continually work toward them. It's like setting little mini horizons...you can't see, you can't even imagine what it will be like to wear that black belt around your waste...but you can imagine being the very best that you can be right now in this moment...and then trying to do just a little bit better. Set mini horizons to aim toward and before you know it you'll look back and be shocked to see how far you've come! Best of luck!!
