Winnie the Pooh, Eeyore, Tigger, and Piglet had great fun at Easter. They got out their Pooh coloring books and painted their eggs and then painted Eeyore with Dragonflies. They then went on their traditional rabbit and easter egg hunt in the Hundred Acre Wood. They don't like to say just 'rabbit hunt', that's so uncivilized! Everyone enjoyed the hunt, except Rabbit.

The author, A. A. Milne, wrote 2 books of prose stories about his son, the wise and thoughtful Christopher Robin, and his favorite bear: Winnie-the-Pooh (1926) and The House at Pooh Corner (1928). Milne also wrote 2 Winnie-the-Pooh Poetry Books. The family lived in Ashdown Forest and the stories of Winnie-the-Pooh's adventures are based there.

The author cast the child, Christopher Robin, in the role of a grown-up and hence in the Hundred Acre Wood, he is the knowledgeable expert on all things. Adults will also enjoy these book as they can capture their childhood vicariously through the other cast of characters.

The last chapter of The House at Pooh Corner, where Christopher Robin and Pooh come to an Enchanted Place and the story ends there, leaves one saddened in the knowledge that Christopher Robin leaves for school and his childhood must end.

The author based the characters of Pooh Bear, Eeyore the Donkey, Piglet, Tigger, Kanger and Roo, on his son Christopher Robin's real nursery toys.



Their characteristics were:

direct and simple Winnie-the-Pooh who also is greedy; Eeyore the gloomy, neurotic donkey who dislikes humanity; humble Piglet who is shy; hyperactive Tigger; the sociopathic Rabbit, and the self-important, know-it-all, narcissist Owl who resorts to officiousness.

What's wonderful is that each chapter in the novels is a self-contained story.

Pooh Bear loves his Honey and it didn't matter where he got it. He got it on his paws, he got it on his nose, why he got it everywhere. Pooh doesn't mind if it rains or snows because he's got so much honey on his nose! Fortunately, Pooh's coloring didn't change because the Honey was the same color as his fur!

Why he even tries to disguise himself as a rain cloud to steal honey, but makes the bees suspicious.
