He studied at Harrow (1888) and Royal Military College, Sandhurst (graduated in 1894)Family: His father was, Lord Randolph Churchill, and his mother Jennie Jerome. Churchill was the elder of two sons. He was married to Clementine Hozier, and had one son and four daughters

Childhood - World War 1 - Time up to World War II
1894: Graduated from the "Royal Military College" at Sandhurst. He was commissioned in the 4th Hussars.
A little while later he served as a military observer with the Spanish forces in Cuba
1897: Served in the Indian army (Malakand Expedition)
1898: His first book appeared "The Story of the Malakand Field Force"
1900: Wrote a novel ""Savrola" (anticipated later developments in history)
1899: Was sent as a war correspondent for the London Morning Post(South African War). He was captured, taken to a prison camp in Pretoria, made a dramatic escape. This made him famous all around the world
Jan. 23, 1901: He became a member of Parliament for Oldham (Lancashire). Later became Undersecretary of State for the colonies.
1906: He published lord Randolph Churchill (2 vols.)

1908: Winston Churchill married Clementine Hozier. They had one son and four daughters.They each had a special nickname: Diana (Puppy Kitten), Randolph (Chum Bolly),Sarah (Bumble Bee) and Marigold (Duckadilly)
