Wire Wrapped Chain Bracelet with Beads Jewelry Making Project

This bracelet and watchband jewelry making project are made with a relatively simple to make jewelry wire chain.

Making the Project
The inspiration for the design of the chain is based upon a chain design that is hundreds and perhaps thousands of years old. The original design was based upon soldering individual links and then connecting them. The original chain has been named the "Money Chain" in Oscar T. Banson's book "Indian Jewelry Making Chain". It was called money chain, because the individual links could be removed and used as money. That money chain required making oval links of wire and soldering the two ends of the wire together. This chain is a variation of that Money Chain that does not require soldering. You can view a close up of two versions of the chain below. We will provide instructions for making both versions of this jewelry wire chain.

You'll need:
42 inches of 22 gauge wire. 1/2 hard wire is recommended.
One commercial clasp.
One large bead or several smaller beads.
Round Nose Pliers
Flush Cutter
Chain Nose or Bent Chain Nose Pliers (2)
Fine Step Jaw Pliers
Nylon Jaw Pliers
Any WigJig jewelry making jig with 2 metal pegs
Ruler
