I'm currently reading Barbara's book "I Could do Anything if I Only Knew What it Was" and it's a great book. It gives very practical, workable advice. Barbara speks from a perspective that I've found no other Self Help/Positive thinking author has done. I would highly recommend this book and any of her other books to anyone, and yes, do check out her websites & join the forums.

I went to a retreat for Scanners last Spring, have the book, and have watched all her PBS presentations. First, the woman's a hoot. If I cannot laugh at a workshop, I'm done for. Second, she makes being over fifty be someplace I am THRILLED to be. I saw her on t.v. the first time when I was just fifty-one or two. Now I am starting my own business out of my home--my dream, in fact. While I DO attribute some of it to me, I found support through her workshop, her words to me at the book-signing, and through the forums on the blog. I made a poster for a friend that said, "Being young is unfortunate." I believe Barbara Sher said that in one of her shows and I have loved it every since. And her.

I love Barbara. A major shift in my life began for me in the early 90's when I read "It's Only Too Late If You Don't Do It Now".

Barbara is so grounded and real compared to many other inspirational lifestyle author/speakers. She is currently my mentor in my Write/Speak group. Barbara Sher and I are co-speakers at an upcoming conference in Virginia end of March. This woman will re-charge your life! Come take some time out for you and hear Barbara speak: http://www.notimeforme.net. Robin Sparks

I found this and thought that I just had to write too. But so many smart entries already it is hard to add anything. Well maybe a personal experience will do: I had wishcraft and after many years of whining and trying to change things in my life, this book and a success team finally got me moving - slowly but steadily. And than Refuse to choose came out and I knew I had to go to the retreat. Corfu 06. A life saving experience. I finally was recognized as the OK being that I am. Barbara is marvellous and she needed all her wits and skills to deal with us :-) and her great humour and intuition never failed her. Geez what a week. And since then things started moving and gaining speed lace a formel 1 racing car. I am established in my new life already!!!!! Take any chance to get to read, listen or work with her that you can. I am truly grateful for her work.

Thanks for getting the word out on Barbara Sher. I've used her books since my first "real job" - "I Could Do Anything..." was like an oasis in the desert for me when I was looking to change - she was the first person I read who really understood what it's like when you just don't know *what* you want to do (just not what you are doing now).

I agree with the above posters about seeing Barbara live - her retreats are outstanding. And if you can see her live, or take one of her tele-classes, you'll get a taste of that.

Oh, thank you so much for that information! The other Barbara must certainly be benefitting from the confusion! Contemporary Authors contains the same error, by the way.

Thanks so much for stopping by and saying hello! This lens is getting the fastest, most amazing response I've ever gotten on any of my many lenses!

Thanks again for all your wonderful books!

In my 20s, Wishcraft showed me how to life an elegant and warm life on a beginners salary in the big city (was I the only one who had a summer beach house for a net of $75/year??). In my (hmmm....) It's Never Too Late helped me take stock of what I had leaned in work and in life and design another leap forward at a time when my friends seem to run out of steam. Refuse to Choose helped me value and organize my protean intellectual and practical wanderings. And her Write Speak Program is showing me how to corral all that into helping others as an author and speaker.

She is unparalleled...period. If you miss her -- I can promise you, PROMISE, that you will miss critical information that will help you live your fullest, richest, most giving and rewarding life.

Wow, I am so glad to find this site. Thank you, Elaine, for having it. (And may I say your Creative Texture products are lovely!!! I will tell friends about them for sure.)

Well, Barbara Sher...what can one say but that she is a force of nature. A typhoon of ideas, a volcano of creativity, a deep wellspring of loving and caring. Such an original thinker that other counselors pale in comparison. She has done so much good for so many people it is amazing. And she gives away so much of her time and her hard-thought-out ideas for free! She is an astonishing woman.

When I first saw Barbara on PBS talking about It's Only Too Late If You Don't Start Now I was floored. Her philosophy was an answer to my prayers, literally. I had despaired of ever finding and utilizing my gifts; she gave me renewed hope and - SO important - easy steps to achievement.

All her books are great, and her workshops and retreats are fantastic.

Did I mention that I really, really like Barbara?

I was drawn into Barbara Sher's work by her book "I Could Do Anything If I Only Knew What It Was." Little did I know that the book would lead me to connecting with Barbara through her Success Teams (www.barbarasher.com) and eventually participating in one of her fabulous Retreat Programs (www.geniuspress.com).

If you want to figure out what your dreams are and you want practical no-nonsense advice on how to touch them, Barbara Sher is the woman who's work you need to experience.

She's all over the net (www.barbarasher.com)).
She's all over the world (http://www.geniuspress.com/scannerretreat.html)
and she'll be "all over you" ... in a good way ... until you "Do what you love!"
