Wolfenstein Enemy Territory

Wolfenstein Enemy Territory was released in 2003 and has been a freeware game since its launch.

As mentioned above Wolfenstein Enemy Territory is a first person shoot em' up. The game involves playing as either an Axis (German) or Allie (American) soldier in the World War II theatre of war. As a soldier the player can pick to be a different class and tries to achieve set objectives to win the map, these large maps are based in Europe and North Africa.

Wolfenstein Enemy Territory is an online game and because of this players can join games on many diffeent servers against players from across the world.

There are five types of soldier a person can decide to play as in Wolfenstein Enemy Territory, these are

Soldier - The Soldier has the use of heavy weaponry such as artillery and panzers.

Medic - The medic can give first aid to replenish the health of players on his team. A medic also has a higher number of health points than any other player.

Engineer - Has the ability to lay mines, build bridges and repair tanks, the Engineer is probably the most important of all the classes.

Field Ops - The field ops is able to direct airstrikes and artillery on to its enemy.

Covert Op - Has the ability of using sniper rifles and taking enemies clothing to go "Under cover" behind enemy lines.

Europe Campaign:

Fuel Dump - The objective is for the Allies to blow up a heavily defended fuel dump.

Wurzburg Radar - The Allies have to steal the radar parts from two Axis radars.

Railgun - The Axis need to move the ammo by train to a railgun then fire the railgun to win this objective.

North Africa Campaign:

Gold Rush - The objective is for the Allies to steal an Axis tank, blow open a vault and steal two crates of gold.

Siwa Oasis - The Allies have to blow up two anti tank guns.

Seawall Battery - The Allies need to blow up the gun controls of a large battery capable of blowing up ships.

Panzer - A heavy rocket launcher used by Soldiers.

Flamethrower - Does what it says on the tin, used by soldiers.

MG Heavy Machine Gun - A heavy duty machine gun that tears through all in front of it, used by soldiers.

Light machine gun - Used by all classes as the default weapon.

Pistol - Used by all classes as the default secondary weapon.

Garand (with Grenade launcher) - Used by Engineers.

FG42 - Lightweight sniper rifle used by covert ops.

Sten - silent weapon used by covert ops.

M1 Garand for Allies, K43 Mauser for Axis - Heavy duty sniper rifle used by covert ops.

Due to its cult following many people have developed clans of 100+ players who all wear the specific colour and tag of their clan in their name.

These clan members act as administrators on clan servers to ensure all play fairly. The best clan members usually form a "Scrim team" which is a team of five who play against the scrim teams of other clans.

By playing and beating the scrim teams of other clans it shows how good a clan is and help improvesthe top players as they battle to complete objectives over the main six maps. The winning scrim team is the one who wins the most objectives/maps.
