Wolverine - the movie
Hugh Jackman will reprise the role of Wolverine in what is billed as a prequel to the X-Men film trilogy, focusing on the Logan/Wolverine and his days with Team X.
The film is supposedly set before Wolverine had his skeleton bonded with the indestructible metal adamantium, and is said to also focus on his relationship with Victor Creed (aka. Sabretooth) and Wolverines involvement in the Weapon X program.

The official version
Rumored Plot
Much of X-Men Origins: Wolverine is said to be set some 17 years prior to the first X-Men film. It is said to follow the transformation story of Logan into the Wolverine.
Photos that have emerged also point to numerous flash backs, that cover the early years of Logan, as well as the first time his mutant powers manifest. These screen shots (see below) look strikingly similar to some of the panels taken from the Wolverine Origins series.
The film is also rumored to include a closing battle between Wolverine and Weapon XI.
