Wombies

Although Wombies were originally derived from wild Australian wombats, they're very different creatures. While wombats like to eat roots and grasses, the average Wombie dines on chocolate, Spam, and Wine Gums. In fact it has been scientifically proven that Wombies need to consume at least a few grams of Wine Gums per day in order to thrive.

Wombies can dig, however they do not live in burrows unless they are "roughing it" and "camping out." Most Wombies live with people in their homes, in the city or country. In the wild, wombats are found only in Australia. Adopted Wombies, on the other hand, reside in most of the countries of the world. They enjoy cable and broadband internet if available.

Binky is the smartest and oldest Wombie. He was Dr. Franco's first successful super-wombat, and turned out to be even more intelligent than the doctor. Binky's is a rocket scientist whose goal is to be the first Wombie to reach the moon.

Winky is arguably the most lovable Wombie. What he lacks in common sense, he more than makes up for in charm. He tends to worry a lot, but he is a loyal friend and would do anything to help others.

Twink is the artistic one. She enjoys writing, painting, and cooking. As the only female of the original gang, she has her hands full trying to take care of her brood.

The youngest Wombie, Fraz, has more energy than he can control, and he often finds himself in trouble because of it. He likes skateboarding and extreme sports and wants to someday break a world record for something fast and dangerous.

Chris, the only living relative of the Wombies, is their reluctant guardian. The Wombies landed unannounced on his doorstep one fateful evening, and his life has never been the same since. He copes the best he can, but for a single twenty-something guy, raising a mixed family of Wombies is quite a challenge.

The exploits of Winky, Binky, Twink, and Fraz are chronicled in the Wombania comic strip. A weekly strip, it has been syndicated to newspapers for the past five years.
