Are You Ready For A Challenge?

Ministry is challenging enough but being a woman in ministry comes with even more challenges that can be frustrating making one feel like they are just spinning their wheels. Meeting others needs while maintaining a beautiful reflection of Christ can become quite the balance. This is the place for women in ministry to find some encouragement, resources, and a community to help transform women into the servants God wants us to be!

Carol's Life

My name is Carol Wright and I have so many different titles on this journey that God's put me on that I never know which one to start with. I juggle many balls in one day including being a wife to Chad, mom to 4 and 2 year old girls (Joy & Addie), a servant of God, the director of Kid's Cove at Good News Community Church, a student, a daughter, a sister, and a friend. Three days a week I am in the office at church, the other days I spend at home being a wife and mom. I love to scrapbook, read, and hike the beautiful Rocky Mountains. I soon hope to graduate from Colorado Christian University with my Bachelor's of Science in Christian Leadership/Organizational Management. I will be the first in my family to have a college degree. My hope is to inspire my own daughters to one day become what God calls them to be, If that includes college, then great and if not, that's great too! My husband and I have been married for almost nine years and are enjoying this crazy life together. Chad's dream is to one day lead a church. He is a gifted speaker and is passionate about living and inspiring others to live for Christ. Supporting and helping each other in everyday life is how we try to make our marriage work. Sometimes I look at my life and am amazed at all the gifts God has given me. It's easy to take them for granted and/or become overwhelmed. Regardless, I am grateful for this journey and look forward to where He leads me next.

Core Leadership

The Core, as it is affectionately known, is the leadership team at Good News Community Church. It is made up of the individuals who lead and manage the various ministries throughout the church. The Core are the ones who define the future of this church -the decisions they make and the actions they take impact the entire Good News Church community, the city of Broomfield, the surrounding communities, the world, and ultimately the Kingdom of God. I'm Just A Girl!

The room is full of conversation, people shaking hands, handing out business cards, and exchanging official titles. The scene takes place at any business meeting, ministry event, luncheon, etc and it gets so frustrating when as a woman many men pass by or don't include you in the conversation because you are either the wife of one of the men or what you have to offer isn't as valid as the guy standing next to you regardless of your experience and/or education.
Or maybe the scene looks like the 5th grade social in which all the men are on one side of the room while the women talk busily on the other side of the room. If only we could drop our issues and engage each other in a real and humble manner. This is one of my biggest frustrations in ministry. Not all men are this way but many are and it can be rather irritating. But take heart, confidence is found in who we are in Christ. He gifted us with the talents and gifts necessary to lead!

Encourage, support, or ask a question!

So what's your biggest challenge? Where have you found encouragement and support amidst leading as a woman?
