Leather is a perfect material for making accessory items. The durability and appealing richness of leather make it the best choice for gloves, shoes, handbags, briefcases, belts, and jackets. - Sandals
- Sandals are an open type of footwear, consisting of a sole held to the wearer's foot by straps or thongs passing over the instep and around the ankle. While the distinction between sandals and other types of footwear can sometimes be blurry (as in the case of huaraches-the woven leather footwear seen in Mexico), the common understanding is that a sandal leave most or all of the foot exposed. People may choose to wear sandals for several reasons, among them economy (sandals tend to require less material than shoes), comfort in warm weather, and as a fashion choice.
- It's a Wrap
- The wrap dress first emerged on the fashion scene in 1970 when Diane von Furstenburg, a Brussels-born American, sold her first wrap dress during the New York Fashion Week. A classic design, it revolutionized women's concept of how to dress elegantly and simply at the same time. This is a style that is almost unilaterally flattering to every body shape. The design, which does exactly what the name implies, wraps across the bust emphazing cleavage, skims the hips, and then ties at the waist thus either accenting or giving the illusion of an hour-glass figure. When it is designed properly and made properly with the right material it can be a staple in just about every woman's closet.
- Why High Heels?
- Today, high-heels are typically worn by women, with heights varying from a Cuban heel of 1½" height to a stiletto heel (or spike heel) of 4" or more. Extremely high-heeled shoes, such as those higher than 5", are normally worn only for aesthetic reasons and are not considered practical. Court shoes are conservative styles and often used for work and formal occasions, while more adventurous styles are common for evening wear and dancing. High-heels have seen significant controversy in the medical field lately, with many podiatrists seeing patients whose severe foot problems have been caused almost exclusively by high-heel wear.
- What Color Should I Paint My Room?
- Years of color response research have shown that human behavior is affected by color and that we do respond psychologically to color. You probably already know that from your own experience. You've probably had strong responses to certain colors in the past and know that surrounding yourself with the right colors is a good thing to do.
- Physical Activities to Help You Get Into Swimsuit Shape
- There's still plenty of time to get into swimsuit shape. Here are a number of good tips to help you look your best for summer.
- Express Yourself Wearing Swimsuit Cover-Ups
- Whether you are planning on hitting the beach this summer or just hanging out around the pool, chances are you will need some type of cover-up for those moments when you want protection from too much exposure. Beach cover-ups are a perfect alternative to the towel wrapped around your waist and can make you feel comfortable as well as sexy.
- Dangerous Chemicals in Skin Care Products
- If you knew that many makeup and skin care products contain hazardous toxins, dangerous petroleum products, and cancer-causing carcinogens, not to mention irritating fragrances, would you still use them? Studies have shown that more than 4.5 pounds of chemicals are absorbed by the average consumer through skin care products.
- History of Swim Suits
- Swimming has been around since man first discovered that getting in a body of water was fun, a way to bathe, or an answer as to how to cross the water. There are even drawings inside a cave near what is now Libya, that date from about 7000 B.C. that depict men swimming.
- Shopping During Retail Seasonal Sales
- It may seem like everything is on sale at the major retail stores all the time, but really that's not the case. The retailers still know that seasonal sales can be money makers for them when promoted and executed properly. Therefore, the wise shopper will do well to anticipate the annual seasonal sales and plan their purchases accordingly. The following seasonal sale calendar will help you to take advantage of the buying and selling cycle.
- Scarves: The Easiest and Most Budget-Conscious Way to Be in Style
- Yes, scarves have been around for ages. The earliest ancestor of the scarf of today was a cloth that was worn hung from a belt or worn around the neck during Roman Times called a sudarium or sweat cloth - like most things of fashion, scarves started with a practical use.
- Leather Accessories and the Tanning Process
- Leather is the result of the tanning process applied to animal skins. Cowhide is used for most leather products, but pigskin, deerskin, and lambskin also are made into fine leather items. Animal hides are tough in their their raw form but will decay rather rapidly unless they are processed and tanned.
