Scrapbooking
About a year ago I was going through all our family pictures and I realized just how many pictures we had taken since the birth of our first son over six years ago. A lot! All of our baby pictures were thrown together in shoe boxes and most of those weren't even labeled so it was hard to tell which baby picture belong to which child. We have four children so you can imagine how many baby pictures we have! All of our kids looked alike as babies so I was really regreting not organizing the pictures sooner.
I was at a playgroup one day and I overheard some of the other moms talking about scrapbooking. I'd heard of scrapbooking before, but I never really thought to try it myself. I am not really a creative/crafty person and I was a little intimated at first, but I quickly found that scrapbooking was a lot of fun and that it wasn't as hard as I thought it was going to be.
I started with my daughters scrapbook first. I'm almost finished with her first year! My two older sons ages 6 and 4 both want to help me do their own scrapbooks. I'm planning on letting them pick out their own books and letting them help me put all the pages together. It will be a great craft project that we will all enjoy!

Getting started
Once you've decided on which scrapbook to buy you will need to choose some paper to work on. They have different paper designs for every occasion- Christmas, Thanksgiving, Halloween, birthday, baby, wedding, ect. Or you can pick a paper with a certain color or design.
Now it's time for accessories. I like working with buttons, stickers, stencils, markers, glitter glue and ribbons. There are a large variety of accessories to choose from! My favorite are the stickers. There are so many stickers to choose from that sometimes it's hard to decide on which one to use.
Don't forget glue to glue your pictures and accessories to the paper!

Here Are Some of My Favorite Scrapbooking Supplies
There are so many different ways to use these!
Foof-A-La Bag-O-Buttons-Indian Summer
I use buttons a lot in my scrapbooking. They add a cute touch to any scrapbooking page! For example, for a page on babies you can write out Cute as a button and replace the word button with an actual button.
Grosgrain Ribbon Dots Group 27 Rolls 3/8", 54 Yards
Ribbons can had a lot of character to your scrapbooking page. You can glue stripes on your page, make a border around your pictures or for little girl pictures you can make a bow and place it in her hair.
FUN FONT ALPHABET - Clear Vinyl Stickers - Scrapbooking Stamping - Sticker Decal - #C186
Alphabet stickers are great! I use them a lot for names or creating a title for a page. If you're doing a page on the first day of school you can scatter different letters of the alphabet all over the page to create a cute background.
Craft / Scrapbooking Glitter Glue w/ Confetti 4 Piece Tubes
I occasionally use glitter glue for writing names or tittles. They can add a nice touch.
Fiskars Ripple Paper Edgers Craft Scissors
Using ripple paper edgers scissors can create a nice border around your picture.

Wedding Theme
I wish that I would have started scrapbooking after my wedding. Now I want to finish the kids scrapbooks first before I start on our wedding scrapbook (so it will be awhile!) If you're planning on getting married or newly married you should start on your wedding scrap book as soon as possible. That way all your memories are still fresh on your mind. Even if you've been married a while it's still a great idea to start a scrapbook. It will bring back all your memories on why you married your spouse.

Baby theme
There are a large variety of baby supplies to choose from. They are all so cute! I'm still working on each of our baby's scrapbook and it has been a lot of fun going through all the baby supplies and deciding which to do. If you're expecting a child you can start you scrapbook before the baby is born. Start it with pictures of the ultrasound and pictures of you pregnant with him/her.

Example of a Halloween Page

You first have to pick out which pictures you want to use. Next, decide which paper and accessories you're going to use. I layout where I want to put everything first and when I'm happy with how it looks I glue everything to the paper. For the two pages I'm working on in this picture I decided to do a simple design. I liked the paper so much I didn't want to take away from it's design by adding to many pictures and accessories. I added a few pictures and added some really cute stickers. It's a quick easy design! In the picture of my son, Tanner, I placed some stickers around him to make the picture even cuter.

Thanksgiving theme
After I started scrapbooking I realized that I really didn't have many pictures of Thanksgiving so I used pictures that we've taken during fall time like pictures of the kids playing in the leaves.
