Depending on what is being stored, you'll need to decide what kind of floor your shed should have. If you are just building a small shed to keep gardening tools then a gravel floor will suffice. The only problem with gravel floors is ground dwelling animals can dig up through the gravel and create holes or mounds of dirt. If its in your budget, I recommend building the floor out of concrete.

Another thing that you need to consider when building a wood storage shed is what main materials you should use. Some people like to build a shed with the same or similar siding as their home. This works well if the shed is near the house and going in your garden. Using the same siding helps keep the shed from sticking out makes it pleasing on the eyes.

One thing most people over look with their storage sheds is security. A lot of people use just a simple pad lock to secure their shed and even hang the key up around the corner or under a floor mat. Pad locks are very easy to break and you should use a lock such as a dead bolt if your storage shed door is capable of using such.
