Word Cloud sites - Advertising for the new age
Word cloud sites are loosely based on the million dollar homepage concept and carry a number of text links which can be claimed by advertisers for linking to their web sites.
Joel Comm was the first to bring this up with his 500 words. 97tags improved the concept vastly by limiting the number of keywords to 97 and also introduced a cool word cloud site builder software - very powerful and easy to operate.
This concept picked up quite well - there were several variations on the basic themes - several people just copied the basic idea without any unique twist.
