GOOGLE VERIFICATION easy instructions
I have tried using WORDPRESS.COM for blogging a few days back. As new user, I don't know how to use the dashboard. I don't even know how to get my blog google verified. And worst... I don't know where to upload my GOOGLE VERIFICATION code he he he... I'm totally illiterate! But after few minutes of trawling at wordpress support, I have found the best and easy way to get my WORDPRESS.COM BLOG GOOGLE VERIFIED.
VERIFYING WORDPRESS.COM blog using the GOOGLE WEBSMASTER TOOL with the easy instruction written below is as easy as eating peanuts. You just have to follow the step by step instruction.
Since you are here, I assume you already know everything about google websmaster tools and everything it has to offer.
WORDPRESS.COM BLOG GOOGLE VERIFICATION easy steps:

1. Assuming that you already have a google account. Login to your google account through the google webmaster tools
2. Add your URL - ex: http://yourdomain.wordpress.com
3. Go to the statistics tab and click on the link that says verify.
4. Once you click verify, the google webmaster tool will ask you which method you want to verify your site. Choose "Upload an HTML file"
5. Now, a verification code will appear once you select the "Upload an HTML file" and you will be told to upload a file similar to this google4f645e3adsdaa48g3a41z.html
verification code: google4f645e3adsdaa48g3a41z.html
Question is how do we upload the html file.
6. Leave the webmaster tool open. Now go to your wordpress.com blog dashboard. Create a New Page (please note PAGE not post) and paste the verification code that googlewebmaster tool gave you as title (subject).
ex: google4f645e3adsdaa48g3a41z.html
Your permalink should look like this:
http://yourdomain.wordpress.com/google4f645e3adsdaa48g3a41zhtml/
Do not write anything on the text box. just leave it blank.
7. Press publish. Your page is now publish. Wait a few second.
8. Go back to your googlewebmaster tool and hit verify.
That's it. It works for me!
Now, it's time to submit your site to YAHOO! SITE EXPLORER for YAHOO AUTHENTICATION, if you are using wordpress.com, you can just follow the same procedures as above. If you're a blogger/blogspot user, check out my BLOGSPOT for easy instruction.

- If you are using wordpress.com hosted blog the above steps will work but if you are verifying a wordpress.org self hosted blog these steps won't work. If you have followed my instructions carefully, you could have verified it by now. Make sure you have followed step no. 6 and make sure you have copied the verification code carefully. Anyway, since I cannot see what is happening there and what you are doing I think the best thing to do is to contact the wordpress admin or go to their support section and post your problem there. There's a lot of expert there that can help solve this problem. I am no expert, I just share what I thought could help anyone out there.
Thank you for dropping by to lens. and Good Luck!

- I followed the steps but when I hit verify Google comes back and says they could not verify because the code was not in the header. Any thoughts on a fix for me?
