Words Of Encouragement

Dear Friends: Words of encouragement can mean so much to a hurting soul if offered in love and heartfelt compassion. This desire to encourage other people, to reach out and share my faith and my testimony, has been born out of many years of seeking the Lord, saturating my heart and mind with His Word, and allowing the river of Life contained therein to flow freely through me. For scripture says in Jeremiah 29:13 And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart. What started as a spiritual journey has become an all encompassing love walk with our Lord Jesus.

So to encourage others is now a passion for me, a calling if you will, because to whom much is given, much is required (Luke 12:48). And through faith in Jesus, I have been saved, redeemed and set free. By the blood of Jesus I have been forgiven and cleansed. I am now the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus. Through trusting Him and waiting patiently for Him in the hard places and overwhelming struggles of life I have been given life more abundant and free, and yes, I owe it all to Him.

Now I realize my suffering has been but a light affliction compared to the glory He is revealing. The Lord has richly blessed my life. He has brought me safely through many life-threatening storms. He was the Fourth Man who stood with me in the furnace of affliction numerous times. I have been in such sorrow and turmoil I have despaired of even life but God stood by me. His Love sustained me. He gave His strength when my strength was gone. The Lord has been my refuge, my strong tower, my shelter in every storm. The Lord is my stay and the anchor of my soul. The Lord IS gracious to ALL who will call upon Him, and through His grace and mercy poured out in love to my lost and wounded spirit, I have been comforted.

Yes, if Jesus was poured out for me how can I not but pour out of myself for Him? For all that is within me is of God. The life that I now live, I live for Him. He has given me beauty for ashes, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness, the oil of joy for mourning (Isaiah 61:3). The words of encouragement I now write are to lift others up in their time of suffering. These words of encouragement are to give others hope in times of despair. Just as the Lord reached down and lifted me out of the miry pit, so I seek to encourage others that God is there for them no matter where they are in life. Nothing is able to separate us from the Love of God, dear friends, and through the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross, you too can live life that is not just an existence, but a purposeful, joy-filled life. Believe it and receive it this day and you will find rest for your souls.
