How To Cheat At Words With Friends

What Can I Spell?
This Words With Friends Cheat Guide is meant to be used as a convenient resource tool to help your vocabulary skills, give some common logic tips and speed your gameplay. As you stare at your tiles, you're brain is on overdrive with the classic question, "What Can I Spell?"
Have no fear! There are hundreds of different strategies, floating around, about the best way to defeat your opponent. Several ideas are included, for your consideration and have been broken down into two categories - "the hard way" and "the easy way".
The purpose of these two categories is to separate the people who are in a hurry and are looking for the quick fix, versus those that have some free time, want to take things a bit slower and possibly pick up a solid technique or two, along the way. If you employ some of these suggestions, you should see your point totals increase over time.

Words With Friends Cheat
Relax & Think
Don't be like me and always be in a rush to play the first word that pops into your brain. Take your time and mull over your options. Try to piece together a few words. Give yourself some options, it's worth taking a few extra minutes.
JUST BECAUSE YOU CAN PLAY A LONG WORD, DOES NOT MEAN THAT YOU SHOULD
I can't tell you the number of times I have played a 7 tile word, but was only one tile away from a 'Bingo'. Unless you have some 3 to 5 point letters in the word and an opportunity to land them on a Triple Letter or Double Letter (not to mention a DW or TW), there's really no point. Short words can get you more points than a super long word. It all depends on where the placement occurs.
DON'T THROW AWAY YOUR "S" OR "BLANK" TILES ON CREATING A WORD.
The 'S' is the most important letter in the game. You should decrease your focus on playing a regular word with an 'S' in it. Instead, use those 'S' tiles to play off of the root of another word, when putting down something fresh. You'll get the point values for 2 separate words, as a result, hence a higher point total. Two words are always better than one and the 'S' is the easiest way to make that happen. Sure, there are different ways to go about that, but the 'S' is the absolute easiest. Saving this strategy towards the later rounds can help you pull away in a tightly contested match.

Be Smart About Your Word Placement
'BINGO' IS THE NAME-O THE GAME-OThe first few rounds are usually the most opportune time to land a Bingo. I didn't get my first Bingo until a few months in the game. A Bingo is what they call it when you play all of the tiles in your hand to make a word. Not only do you get all of those points for the word, they give you a bonus 35 for maxing it out. Holding on to a few blank and 'S' tiles is also another strategy towards landing a BINGO.
MASTER THE ART OF THE 2 AND 3 LETTER WORD.
I've lost tons of games by not following this simple rule. Learning to play short words with weird, seldom used, letters can reap you solid point totals. Knowing words that incorporate 'J', 'Q', 'K', 'Z' and 'V' could really help your numbers. This has helped me go from 10-15 points per round to 20-30. Every round is different and this might not work for everybody, but it can definitely help you to learn a few of these words.
PLAY THOSE DOUBLE AND TRIPLES WISELY.
You should be looking to drop a word on a Triple Word, Triple Letter, Double Word or Double Letter spot on every single turn, if possible. This is a pretty simple concept and not always achievable. I feel like I've missed an opportunity when I can't play on a colored tile.
PLAY A WORD ALONGSIDE AN ALREADY PLAYED WORD TO CREATE MULTIPLE SCORES.
Four or five words, worth 3-4 points each, can really add up. Especially, if they happen to get placed on the doubles and triples.

WORD GENERATORS CAN IMPROVE YOUR VOCABULARY.If you're playing against your friends, it's probably a good thing to establish whether you can use generators or not. If you both agree, it could be a free-for-all of crazy words that improve your skills. There are a growing number of purists who loathe sites like WordsWithFriendsCheat.Net, but if you choose to look at it from a different vantage point, you can see that it could be a useful tool. Some people aren't rabid about the game, like I am and I can totally appreciate that this might not be their cup of tea. All I can say is that I'm learning 5 - 10 new words weekly and I actually do learn a lot when using the generator.
PREFIXES vs. SUFFIXES
By using one of these, you can quickly make up lost ground. (ie. The word already in play is 'TENSE' and you decide to play 'PRE' in front of it, therefore playing 'PRETENSE')
DON'T PLAY THE STRANGEST WORD POSSIBLE.
If the generator gives you a list of words to choose from, play the most obvious choice that makes sense. Playing some of the crazy combinations it generates might be legal, but it could get you into hot water with your friends. No need for that.
KNOW WHAT IT MEANS.
Consider learning the definition of the word before you play it. If you don't already know what that word means, educate yourself and look it up. If you have several words you can play for the same point value, consider playing the word you know, instead of one of the crazier words. I played a crazy word the other day, 'NGWEE' and the opponent went berserk. LOL.

Defense Can Win Games
Don't leave an easy triple word score opportunity for your opponent or an easy "S" play. If you can't play a word and take advantage of the points, then consider placing a word that prevents the opponent from easily taking advantage. They see the same openings you do.
STRIVE TO PLAY AGAINST OPPONENTS THAT YOU KNOW ARE BETTER THAN YOU.
You might get obliterated in every game, but if you are paying attention to the gameplay, not only will you learn new words, you'll see their strategy techniques and learn some helpful tips.
WORDS WITH FRIENDS CHEAT IS A GOOD RESOURCE.
If you don't have the patience to really learn the game, this site provides a word generator and dictionary to see if the word you want to play is valid.

- The differences are in the positioning of the bonus squares, the fact that you can play 20 at once and that there is a big interactive social network component. I enjoy the ability to drop messages within the app. Plus, you can play at your own pace.

- I think at times it's ok....I get brain freeze and just can't think or get all vowels etc. and it helps...But I don't like anyone to use it on a regular every move. May as well play against a computer if that's the case! Thanks Joe!! I do enjoy this game and it does relax me and give me a break from other things on my mind...

- I got into this game on my phone a few months back after a friend introduced me to it, I then got my wife into it and we would lay in bed with our phones playing each other. Pathetic isn't it! Now she is addicted, but I have lost interest...too time consuming and I am already addicted to enough things online!
