More and more advertisers have been using PPC advertising and it will continue to grow, even in a struggling economy. The PPC industry brought in revenues of $2.6 billion in 2004 and now, just Googles Paid ads, generates around $3 Billion PER MONTH and that is just Google, there is still Yahoo, MSN and many other places a person can place a paid ad, including PPC.

Many businesses are using it to promote their own website, business, service, etc. But many Work from home PPC businesses make HUGE sums of money promoting and selling other peoples products via the PPC network. In this way a business owner does not require any inventory or large overhead investment. And, The process is rather simple once learned. There are a number of ways to take advantage of the PPC industry, to buy traffic or to sell traffic. PPC Generally Follows These Basic Steps

  • Setting up an account and/ordeposit funds with a search engine. Google Adwords is the most obvious network to sign up with here, but the yahoo and MSN networks are also very profitable for the savvy marketer.

  • Creating a keyword list.Most simply use Googles free Keyword tool, but some like to get fancy with a beefed up software program. Personally I find Googles tool does a really good job and is simple.

  • Setting up your maximum bid and daily budget for your keywords,

  • Writing out Your ad variations. Test multiple ad formats and over time optimize your campaigns.

  • Set up your landing page(s) for your ads or, direct link. Usually a landing page is best. Work with templates or freelance out to eLance if you can't do this yourself. Some marketers are very successful with direct linking campaigns. Just be sure this is ok with the affiliate company your using. This is nice,because very little effort is required.

  • Placing the advertisement in the search engine. This is all automotive once you activate your ads. Check your ads regularly to see how your bids are performing and tweak as needed.

  • Get launched immediately. PPC advertisements are implemented very quickly - they can go 'online' within an hour after winning the bid.

  • Obtain specific, pre-qualified, and quality traffic. PPC provides you with a quality or a well-targeted traffic. Visitors are narrowed down into 'qualified' people who are actually looking for specific products and/or services that you offer.

  • Widen your reach. PPC advertising provides additional traffic to your site, aside from the natural search engines.

  • Track your investment. PPC advertising makes use of a tracking system that will determine exactly who comes to the website and what they do once they arrive, the length of their stay on the site and the number of pages (including the actual pages) that they view. These are valuable tools in determining statistics such as return on investment (ROI), acquisition cost-per-visitor, and conversion rates (the percentage of visitors who are converted into customers or leads).

Home Based PPC Business with Adsense

Adsense is setting up ads on your own website(s). Other advertisers, through the adsense network, that are looking to advertise via PPC will have the option to also display on the Adsense network. So basically anyone can create adsense ads and place them on their website(s). The cool thing about this sort of ad is that it is dynamic, so you don't have to worry about changing it. Google has built some cool automation tools into the settings, so you can set it up to optimize for ads that are clicked a lot (the ones you get paid for).

Honestly, Adsense is not very profitable, unless you have a few key factors;


  • Content, lots and lots of content. The more pages and posts the better,

  • Traffic, again, the more the better,

  • High value 'keywords'. High value keywords are search terms, keywords, that typically get higher competition and bid values. The higher the bid, the more money you make from that traffic.


Get these things right and this is a cool home-based business that has the potential to generate all kinds of money!

Google has the dominance on a big % of the PPC style internet based advertising, as well as the 'adsense' model. The marriage of these two successful advertising mediums has exploded the internet advertising industry. There are already loads of people that have and are running successful advertising campains through PPC and Adsense style internet marketing.
