FREE TIPS & MONEY-SAVING IDEAS!
Updated July 21-2008
DID YA KNOW?
Save those Bed,Bath, & Beyond coupons you get in the mail- well, sign up on their mailing list if you haven't! At least here in Canton, OH our BB&B ignores the expiration date and the restrictions and lets you use up to 5 coupons on 5 items in one shopping trip! I recently bought a wedding gift and some other misc items with 5 of their coupons PLUS one $2 off coupon for a savings of $10.32!
TIPS:
If you are a scrapbooker...try using the coupons from Joann Fabrics..you can save 40% of one item (buy something big or small). ALSO- save your scraps!...they can hold unlocked potential for accenting your scrapbook pages. Be creative, think outside the box! I have to scrapbook cheap- you don't have to spend a lot to make nice pages.
Save money by buying restaurant gift certificates at Restaurant.com. We've bought $10 gift cert. for $3 through them. Also check out coupons online for added savings at the grocery store.
REBATE! I love it! In 2007 I think I got about $200 or more in almost totally FREE products (you still have to pay the sales tax). I rebate at Walgreens and Rite Aid...don't overlook any rebates that come your way via electronics and appliance purchases too.
OKAY- Here are some more ideas that have helped us!
About 2 yrs ago we realized we'd save money by switching insurance companies. Do some checking around with different ones. We were with State Farm at the time and switched to Allstate...can't remember that amount we saved by switching home owners & car ins. but I think it may have been around a couple hundred or more.
We also canceled one of our whole life policies and got a huge refund- around $900 back and instead bought a term-life insurance policy worth (in the event of death) a whole lot more money than the whole life policy and dropped our payments for it to about $14/month.
These all add up! Keep looking for ways to save money!

Pink crayon on the wall and hot dogs for breakfast!
Have you tried...
Quick cleaning tips for busy moms & dads!
Another tip I've learned from experience is that BAKING SODA is good for removing crayon off your walls! But beware of what type of surface you are using it on first. I have painted plaster type walls and it worked fine for me...I don't know what your wall is made of. It is also useful for removing stains on your cupboard...such as berry, maybe coffee...try it! Be sure to give the surface a good rinsing afterward to remove the soda residue.

Netflix Movies- Do you Netflix?
To be honest, we don't because we need to spend that money in other places and ....the biggest reason I think is because...my husband is the world's biggest fan of borrowing free movies from the library (hint-hint, another TIP). However, I do recommend checking out Netflix if you have to have that new release now.
- Command Performance

Dolph Lundgren directs and stars in this high-octane thriller as rock drummer Joe, whose band is playing the biggest show of its career in Russia when mercenaries storm the stage and take hostages, thrusting Joe into an unexpected rescue mission. With American pop star Venus (Melissa Smith) and the Russian first family captive, Joe teams with agent Mikhail (Zahary Baharov) in a daring attempt to end a madman's (Dave Legeno) bloody siege.- G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra

Dennis Quaid, Channing Tatum, Sienna Miller and Marlon Wayans star in this action-packed G.I. Joe adventure, in which Hawk, Ripcord, Heavy Duty and the rest of the elite special mission force set out to stop evil arms dealer Destro (Christopher Eccleston) and his minions. Rounding out the star-studded cast are Brendan Fraser, Rachel Nichols, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Ray Park, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Saïd Taghmaoui and model Karolina Kurkova.- Operation Delta Force 5: Random Fire

The Delta Force unit returns to tackle another death-defying mission in the fifth installment of this action-packed series. This time, the team is charged with hunting down an evil terrorist who's turning his captives into suicide bombers. But even the elite Delta Force soldiers may be in over their heads when they cross paths with a tyrant who's mastered mind-control techniques. Yossi Wein directs.- Operation Delta Force: Mayday / Deep Fault

This triple feature includes more action-packed tales of American Special Ops heroes Delta Force, who suit up to thwart terrorists wielding stolen nuclear missiles, rescue kidnapped scientists working on a doomsday weapon and combat suicide bombers. As the commandos board hijacked cruise ships, invade secret laboratories and infiltrate remote desert training camps, they also face danger from within their ranks.- The Storm

Billionaire Robert Terrell's (Treat Williams) weather experiments are causing catastrophic natural disasters. But he refuses to halt testing, leaving scientist Jonathan Kirk (James Van Der Beek) with only one option: expose Terrell's covert project. Kirk turns to reporter Danni Wilson (Teri Polo), but the two soon discover that Terrell has key military officials behind his technology -- and the power to devastate is exactly what they're after.- Try Netflix free for 14 days
