Here It Is - The Real Skinny on Envelope Stuffing
So, you saw this ad that told you how you could have gads of money just pouring out of your mailbox within a few short days stuffing envelopes from home.Sounds easy right? Harmless enough idea? Work from home stuffing envelopes, and make a handsome income to boot?
Well, if you haven't figured it out by now, these envelope stuffing ads are a scam. There's really no such thing as a legitimate envelope stuffing job, and legitimate envelope stuffing companies just don't exist.
The whole concept started way back in the early days of direct mail marketing, where some enterprising yet ethically challenged soul figured out how to get people to mail them money...
...for telling other people how to do the same thing. In other words, when you respond to these ads, they are going to send you instructions on how to photocopy the letter you receive, place ads just like the one you responded to, and then get people to send you money for the exact same scam - a classic envelope stuffing for cash scam.
Here's what the U.S. Postal Service has to say about these scams:"In practically all businesses, envelope stuffing has become a highly mechanized operation using sophisticated mass mailing techniques and equipment which eliminates any profit potential for an individual doing this type of work-at-home."
As you can see, even the postal service agrees it's pretty lame. And, yes - I actually responded to one such ad, more out of curiosity than anything. In fact, I've fallen for a few scams in my time - others were more complicated schemes, some so costly that I still get chills thinking about them to this day.
So, here's my advice to you:
- First, don't fall for these work at home envelope stuffing work from home scams. They are bogus, each and every one.
- Second, save your hard-earned money, and put it toward building a legitimate home business - one that sells an actual product or service that people really want and need, and that pays you well for your time and effort.

- Third, make certain that any company you are thinking of starting a home business with is legitimate. Talk to others who are working with that company, and see if they are actually making any profit... and "profit" is the key word here. If it costs you as much or more to run your business than you make back, then it's not a sustainable business model. Find something else to pursue that has higher profit margins, lower start-up and operations costs, or both.
- Finally, don't put all your eggs into one basket. The internet is a wonderful thing; there are numerous legitimate ways you can make money online.Examples would be starting an eBay business, opening a web store (selling your own items, drop-shipping, or finding items at wholesale and reselling them), affiliate marketing, blogging (making money from affiliate links and selling ad space), and direct selling.
You'll find that most of the people who are really making money from home online are implementing a combination of these work-at-home strategies. So, start with one, learn and implement it, then move on to another until you've built several small but reliable income streams in your home business.
