AKC Working Group Dogs
Dogs of the Working Group were bred to perform such jobs as guarding property, pulling sleds and performing water rescues. They have been invaluable assets to man throughout the ages. The Doberman Pinscher, Siberian Husky and Great Dane are included in this Group, to name just a few. Quick to learn, these intelligent, capable animals make solid companions. Their considerable dimensions and strength alone, however, make many working dogs unsuitable as pets for average families. And again, by virtue of their size alone, these dogs must be properly trained.

Cool Handmade Dog Collars
Martingale Collars - not JUST for Greyhounds anymore
Your canine will be the talk of the Bark Park with these collars!

Martingale Dog collars are also known as Greyhound Collars or Humane Choke Dog Collar. The Martingale Dog Collar was designed for Sighthounds because their necks are larger than their heads and they can often slip out of buckle collars. These collars have gained popularity among many other breed owners in the recent past with many trainers now recommending them instead of choke chains or choke collars. These collars are fitted to the exact size of the dog's neck when the Dog Collar is pulled closed. Properly fitted, the collar will be comfortably loose when not in use.
We will custom make a Martingale Collar for YOUR dog. We have listed some of the fabrics we have, but ANY fabric you find online we will buy and make your collar with. Collars take 2 - 4 weeks to be delivered and we ship flat rate priority mail.

George Washington was the first president to declare the holiday, in 1789.

All about ME
I find it hard to talk about myself, don't you??I have two wonderful kids (Kaitlyn age 13 and Liam age 7) and a loving husband, Brian. Although today I feel I am blessed beyond belief, it didn't always seem that way.
I was divorced twice: once from Kaitlyn's dad and once from Liam's dad. Most recently, however, I remarried Liam's dad (Brian) and our relationship is stronger than it ever has been. I also have a very loving and supportive extended family including my mom, dad, step-mom, aunts, uncles and cousins. My only brother passed away July, 2008 after a fatal drug interaction. That event has caused me to re-prioritize my life.
I have a great job and love to go to work every day. I graduated Nursing School in 1993. I wanted to be an operating room nurse, but didn't want to drive to the city (Philadelphia) to work, which was the only place I could get a job in an OR. Instead, I took a job as a Psychiatric Nurse working with children and adolscents. I loved that job, until medical insurance made it difficult to actually treat the kids and rectify their home life. Instead, we stabalized them and sent them back to the dysfunctional home life. I felt like I wasn't helping anymore. By this time, I was married (first time) to Brian and living in Philadelphia. I then took a job at The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia in the Operating Room. I have been there since 2001 and am now the General Surgery, Laparoscopic and Robotic Specialty Nurse. I love what I do. I continually learn new things, meet new people, and am able to help many children each week. I went on a Medical Mission to Guatemala and LOVED IT!! I am saving to be able to do another Medical Mission.
My sister-in-law lives with us. We stayed friends after Brian and I divorced and she moved in to be my nanny. Her Mother died just after my wedding to Brian the first time. Then my father-in-law passed away 2 years after Brian and I started dating again. Lisa, (the SIL) brought with her 3 dogs. Today, her clan has grown to 6 dogs, with an occasional 7th when we foster a greyhound. It is a busy house, but a house filled with love. I am learning to live in harmony with other people - which is VERY difficult at times. I am hoping this teaches my children how to live in harmony and compromise.
I enjoy doing crafts (esp. counted cross stitch and scrapbooking). I love candles!! My favorite candle is FIRESIDE by Yankee Candles - it smells like buring wood/leaves - which is one of those warm memories from childhood.
My SIL and I run an online business: Dog lover gifts featuring over 150 different AKC and ARBA dog breeds in unique dog art designs. It is this work that has driven me to all the Squidoo Lenses about Dog and Dog lover gifts.
