The Top Tool Bar

At the top of your workshop is a frame that stays stuck to the top of your browser. This has important controls on it for managing your lens.

Workshop: Top

Add Modules: click here to add modules (learn more below)

Health: get a "check up" to see how your lens is doing. Learn more about the Health Check Tool

Stats: get traffic, royalty, and LensRank stats for your lens. You can also access this from your dashboard.

Save Draft: your lens draft is always being saved, and you can click this just to be sure.

Publish: to make your changes visible to the public, click Publish. Until you do this, your lens will be under construction. The first time you publish your lens, it will be a Work in Progress for a short time.

The Workshop Tool Menus

The edit page of your lens is called the Workshop. Here, you can make dozens of changes to your lens, besides just editing modules.

Workshop Tools

Themes

First exciting things first. Select your theme!

Workshop: Themes

Themes are a feature that allow you to change the entire look of your lens without any coding knowledge! See what they look like, then go apply them to your own lenses!

My Bio

The top menu is My Bio. On the My Profile tab of your dashboard you can edit your global and default bio, or you can insert a custom bio on each separate lens.

Lens Settings

The Lens Settings menu allows you to edit a few different features:
Workshop Tour: Lens Settings

Topic: (aka category) of your lens. We know we'll never make everyone happy, but there's a big enough variety to choose one that's close.

Lens Rating: if your lens is safe for kindergarteners, it's probably safe to pick G. If it's for grown-ups, pick R. If there's sexual content, pick X (and make sure your lens is in the XXX category). Learn more about our policies on lens ratings.

Maxed: Maxed is the default setting for lenses. It's a style that we've tested and found to be the most effective with search engines and earns the most money. You can avoid displaying the graphic ads on your lens by setting your lens royalties to go to charity, and switching it to Min view. (But you'll still have Google Ads - these can't be removed.)

Export

Exporting your lens doesn't save it exactly as you see it, but it records the vital text details so if you were to ever accidentally delete your lens, you can easily rebuild it.

Workshop: Export

Royalty Settings

There are dozens of options for collecting your earnings in cash or sending them to charity. One way to determine who gets your royalties is by editing the settings on individual lenses. You can send all your royalties for the lens to the same source.

Workshop: Royalty Settings Straight

Or you can split them up:

Lensroll

See which lenses you've lensrolled, reorder them, or delete them.

Workshop: Lensroll

To add lensrolls, visit the lens you want to link to and click the smiley face Lensroll link (usually found in the right column).
