Pet Bars: Health/Focus

Hunter's are one of the most well rounded classes available in World of Warcraft. The ability to deliver ranged attacks while managing threat via their pet makes the Hunter the class of choice for people looking to spend a lot of time running solo.
Strengths
* Long range attacks dealing steady damage with abilities that boost DPS
* Pet can draw attention of a crowd allowing Hunter to fight from a distance
* The pet can tank for the Hunter
Weaknesses
* Higher melee miss chance than other classes
* Reliant on ammo for survival. Don't get caught in the middle of a dungeon without arrows or you're in big trouble.
* Hunters survival is often reliant on the pets survival
Assorted Tips and Useful Info
Feign Death
Feign Death is first available to Hunters at level 30. Initially it may be one of those skills you deem 'useless', but don't be fooled. For the Hunter, particularly the solo hunter, Feign Death will be one of the most useful skills in your arsenal, and one that will keep you alive longer. In PvE play, you can run instances solo quite effectively. Draw a mob, take out as many as possible, before you croak, Feign Death, then repeat.
As a Night Elf hunter (my personal favorite), you can work your way deep into instances without having to do all that much fighting. Here's how, run past a few mobs and keep running, draw as many as possible, keep running till it looks like you may die, then feign death. Once you Feign Death, the mobs will run back to their original positions. Hit shadowmeld and you'll stand and stealth immediately. Wait until the Feign Death cool down is up, repeat the whole process again until you want to fight something (ie. a boss).
Volley
First available at level 40, volley can be used in conjunction with a high threat drawing pet to take out a number of bad guys simultaneously. Pretty simple, send your pet into a pack, wait a second until the bad guys are all drawn to your pet, then volley away. You can also use it in conjunction with a Frost Trap, or anything else that can help hold a group of bad guy in the one area for a few seconds.
